    Very pleasant experience. I had a broken tooth and my insurance ending the next day. Dr Starkey talked through my options and we settled on a filling to hold me over until I can get a crown. Im not sure if another dentist would have worked with me like that. She not only did the filling same day but was also willing to remove some mercury from another tooth that was missed (by a different dentist). She also talked me through every step, explained what was happening in the moment. When I shared that my heart was racing she explained that the numbing agent can do that and itll only lasts about 20 minutes, which helped my dental anxiety a ton. The tooth w the filling was so well done. Super smooth and sealed surface. Makes me wish I had gone there when I got my other mercury fillings removed. I live in Columbus and would make the drive for that kind of experience every time.

    I am so disappointed in Alex Bell Dental. I had an appointment scheduled for 3:30, plenty of time to make it after I got out of school. I always schedule appointments after school to avoid having to find a substitute teacher to fill in for me. I was on my way to my appointment and received a call about 40 minutes before my appointment asking if I was on my way. I thought that was odd but told them I would be there on time at 3:30. I received another call about 5 minutes later saying they would only be able to collect my paper work and do my x rays since I am a first time patient and not do the cleaning- the main reason I scheduled the appointment. I asked if they closed at 4pm? The lady responded that they closed at 5pm. She said new patient appointments are 90 minutes which is how long mine was scheduled for. They wanted me to come back for a second appointment to do my cleaning, which I found frustrating because I had planned on getting everything done in one visit, I called back in July to schedule this appointment. I assumed if they scheduled it, it would ensure plenty of time to get everything finished. I asked why they didnt call me earlier to tell me it wouldnt be enough time and the lady responded well, we are telling you now instead of when you get here. I told her I didnt understand why they would let me schedule an appointment if there wasnt enough time to fulfill the whole appointment. She didnt have an answer. From my perspective, it looked like they didnt want to work until closing time. Ive never experienced anything like this! The lady told me Im sorry you feel that way and offered no solution. I am so disappointed because I was looking forward to establishing care with a holistic dentist. Make this situation make sense!! Update from their most recent response- if you needed me to come in 30 minutes early to complete paperwork you should have scheduled my appointment for 3 vs 3:30. It was never communicated that I needed to come in 30 minutes early to fill out paper work. I was told there wouldnt be enough time to complete my appointment as I was driving to the appointment after work, which I would have been a little bit early for. It was unprofessional to cancel on me 30 minutes before as I was unaware that I could not complete my full appointment. When I scheduled back in July the lady scheduling my appointment should have told me to schedule for 3 vs 3:30 if that is truly what the situation was. However, I have my doubts. You have my information, youre welcome to call me for further clarification. It is important to be honest with our words.

    I have dental anxiety. This office is the first place I have felt comfortable in over ten years. The staff is comforting and knowledgeable. I have never had a negative experience here. I recommend this office to everyone.

    I'm surprised I have not written a review already! I initially found Alex Bell Dental because I was looking for a dentist to remove my amalgam filing a few years ago. I have been taking my kiddoes for their cleanings for a couple of years, and they do great with them. Jackie(hygienist) is fabulous and makes the kids super comfortable and makes the experience fun! Dr. Starkey is so kind and understanding and does an amazing job - I finally got my amalgam removed after having to reschedule 3 or 4 times for personal reasons. It was much less intimidating than I imagined, everything went smoothly and I'm so glad to have that out of my mouth! I've had nothing but great experiences and will always pay cash to see this dentist rather than going to any that take my insurance. 10/10 always recommend!
