Regardless of the care received, which wasn't much to begin with, beware of the physicians you are seen by. They have no problem illegally attempting 'Balanced Billing' which is and was unlawful in many states. They accepted our insurance payment which came with an explanation of benefits and was crystal clear that the patient owed nothing more and could not be billed once the physician cashed the check. Well, fast forward 6 years and we have had to deal with new collection agencies every 2 years. We have filed complaints with the BBB, with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and have sent in letters from our insurance and an attorney. Specifically Dr. Lawrence E. Turton and the Mid-Ohio Emerg Physicians LLP. How is that okay with your Hippocratic oath to then cause stress and anxiety on young adults by trying to squeeze more money from them when you should clearly understand the insurance information. Just despicable and dishonest.
