SO MANY PROBLEMS. We stayed for the eclipse. First, no rooms ready at the normal checkin time after 3 p.m. (for everyone, not just my group). They told everyone 30 minutes until a room was ready. If you left to do something else during that time and a room became available, they gave it to someone else and when you returned, you would again be told another 30 minutes until your room was ready. There were at least 6 groups of people waiting for their rooms on the lobby when we were. Second, when we finally got to our room, there was no soap. None at the sink, none in the shower, nothing. No housekeeping staff to ask for some. We asked at the front desk multiple times and everytime they said they would bring some up. After SIX HOURS, the front desk agent admitted she didn't know where any was and the manager had apparently not restocked that morning, so we just didn't have any. I had to go hunt some down at a gas station in order to wash my hands and my kids' hands after using the toilet. This is SUCH a basic hygiene issue, I can't believe they didn't have it. It wasn't just our room, either: many guests reported this issue, so most of us were probably walking around spreading toilet germs everywhere. Third, there was a SINGLE PERSON working on a sold out night. How can they possibly have thought that was a good idea? The poor employee was doing her absolute best, but she should have had another employee to help her. Fourth, the TV did not work at all. I was there for 2 days and they never got it working. Apparently they upgraded some tvs and not others, but ours had a problem they couldn't resolve. I had 2 young children to entertain while I did some work, and that idea completely fell apart when the TV didn't work at all. Fifth, there were exposed live wires in the pool area, at kid level, perfect for someone with wet hands to electrocute themselves with. Sixth, there were no towels at the pool, only a couple hand towels. We were told they would bring some.... and an hour later we left without ever seeing them. Seventh, they gave us 2 bath towels in our room for 4 people. Eighth, the breakfast options you typically expect at a Hampton Inn were substandard. Limited options and no breakfast bags to go. For all of this, they charged 400 for the night. I am a Hilton Honors member and stay at Hampton Inns very regularly for work and leisure travel and have never had such an underwhelming experience. Whatever you do, don't stay here. Our room overlooked the Econolodge next door, which is probably where we should have stayed. Presumably a similar experience for half the price. Or check out the Days Inn next door. You can get a better price and a better experience.

Where do I even begin? I have literally driven coast to coast and had MANY road trips and always choose a Hilton property when traveling. Needless to say I have seen quite a few similar properties. This place was the worst hotel experience I might have ever had, but definitely the worst for a Hilton branded hotel. We scheduled this room in advance and paid a ridiculous markup because of the solar eclipse in April of 2024. And while I understand that demand sets the rate I was shocked to find out that when we arrived the room was given away to someone else. We rented the room in anticipation of leaving a bit earlier than we ended up being able to leave NY. I called the hotel at 5 am while driving there and the woman who answered was friendly and kind. She checked me into my room, albeit a bit late. We were told no problem at all. We will have the room ready for you. Thanks for being a Hilton Gold Member. When I arrived at 1030 am I used my Hilton app to access our room and I found that the room was clearly used the night before. Okay.. I guess my three kids under six are not going to take a nap here, nor am I after having drove 500 miles in the middle of the night. Alright whatever I think. Well just sort it out with the front desk. I take everyone downstairs, kids screaming and mad that they dont have a hotel room to relax in. Young man at the front desk says No way did we rent your room away.. but give us 45 minutes and well have it fixed! I thought it was a little unprofessional to lie about it but we accepted his timeline. Its now almost twelve and the eclipse starts at two so we decided we would get some food and go watch the eclipse. Surely the room would be ready when we return. After another five hours we show up. Tired and exhausted from the long night and busy day. When I pull up I ask my wife to kindly go check with the hotel to see if the room is ready. I didnt want to go back through the screaming match with the kids. The hotelier suggested yes the room is ready and the woman said she personally made sure. Like wow okay that is great. Im feeling good now. I park, get the three kids and all the bags with their stuff out. We go back to the room and guess what? It was still a complete disaster. Beds unmade, coffee cups everywhere, waitstaff tip still on the desk. So now Im mad. I had been very forgiving and understanding til now but it is over twelve hours after I called originally and the room is still.not.cleaned. I come downtairs with all of our stuff and a woman dressed in street clothes asks us if we are checking out. Im too pissed off for the pleasantries and my wife asks for a manager at the front desk. Im shaking Im so mad. A woman comes by and I ask her are you the manager? She isnt. The kids running around behind the counter are obviously not the manager either. Then six people come around the corner and one proclaims she is the manager. I said what is going on here? She already had a bad attitude. She derisively tells me I didnt check in so they rented it out again. Uh thats BS in my book but I cannot argue. I asked why my room is still not ready? Even if my stay is now one night it is after regular check in and the room should be ready for the next guests, aka my family. She gives me the same lines about being late. Look lady you need to get this room fixed up now. I had to step away so my wife finished with Amanda the manager. We were eventually assigned another room. Turns out this one was dirty too!! No soaps, missing pillows, phone not connected to anything , TV didnt work, fridge FULL of old food, one mostly used up toilet roll, etc. I was shocked. I didnt read the reviews for this hotel before setting up accommodations because I TRUST HILTON. I expect a level of service and politeness from the organization which I have come to appreciate on my travels. This hotel needs help bad. The staff need training, uniforms, etiquette, and most of all work ethic. Every time I went around the hotel all staff were sitting around while the place was a mess! Rooms: Gross and I cleaned. Phones just sitting on desk no cords attached. TVs dont work. Dirty dirty dirty. Walkability: Not walkable. Right off a highway off ramp.

This Hampton Inn knowingly overbooked itself, cancelled my reservation with no notice before I arrived, and did not provide an immediate refund after not honoring my reservation. Would recommend avoiding if at all possible.

Manager, Amanda Jagger, was extremely rude. We went into our room after a late check in to find that they had gave the room to someone else and it was still dirty. We had to wait for an hour with our 3 toddlers outside for them to clean the room. Once we came back, 4 hours later, the room had not been touched. We paid almost $400 dollars for that night and still couldnt get a room. The new room still had food in the refrigerator and the phone was not even connected to the wall. Go anywhere else. Rooms: Dirty, dirty, dirty Phone is not even hooked to the wall

STAY AWAY. Yes they were under construction, but that doesnt excuse the fact that there was a hole in the wall to the outside letting 30 degree air into the room overnight. There were no towels, but boy were there ants all throughout the bathroom. We went to check on getting more towels but no one was ever at the front desk. We would have called from the room phone, but there was no phone, no remotes, and no amenities in the room. During our late check in, the woman let us know that if the beds arent made to the preferred standard, dont be upset because she made them herself. The woman was eating chicken wings and entertaining her own guest behind the desk. Later in the evening, while we were sleeping, our door opened to an unexpected guest outside the door. Thankfully, we had the security latch in place because the strangers had a key that worked and was able to get into the room. We called the front desk and they informed us, sorry, that was my fault, I punched in the wrong number. The confusing part to that is he also sent them to the room. Its safe to say that the Hampton Inn off of the highway in Kent is going through a lot, but taking their struggles out on their guests was a bit rude.
