Klepec & Klepec

I would not recommend this accountant to prepare your taxes. Klepec made several elementary catastrophic errors on my taxes which led me to the denial of a mortgage loan from two banks. This cost me a fortune of money and time, not to mention mental anguish. I was simply trying to refinance my primary home and made plenty of money to get a good loan, but the tax errors Klepec made caused my debt-to-income ratio to be too high. I had to jump through a mountain of hoops trying to get approved but sadly I was ultimately turned down. My denial, banks words, was completely based on my taxes and they had to go by what my taxes stated regardless of understanding the errors made on them. The bank wanted me to amend the taxes and provide proof from the IRS that the errors were quantified and reported to the IRS. The time that this would take to accomplish from the IRS would have massively surpassed the timeframe of the loan process, pointless. Klepec, not only was hesitant to help try resolving the issue with the bank or IRS, but they also never expressed any sympathy or apologized for the mistake they made and the trouble it caused. Klepec did NOT hold themselves accountable or own the situation. Klepec said you don't amend these types of mistakes. I asked for a full or partial refund of the fees I paid Klepec to prepare my taxes, but I was denied that also. Klepec referred me to the page I signed with them at the beginning of the process that basically releases them from any omissions and errors. It states the client is responsible for double checking the preparers work. Now why would I pay someone else to do my taxes if I understood them and knew how to do them myself? I now have to wait 1-2 years of correctly prepared taxes before I can get approved for another home loan. I missed out on the precious market value we have had and now have to continue paying much more for my home than I have to. I attempted to ask for a refund a couple more times, but I was ignored. I still to date have not heard from Klepec. I will update this review accordingly to any response I get from Klepec. I want this post to help save the trouble for someone else. * Update 2/13/2023: Since I posted this review last year there has been no attempts of communication from the Klepec's to discuss or resolve this matter. They obviously know my complaint is valid and there is nothing to dispute here. Please do your diligence and find a more experienced professional company to handle the care of your taxes.

* Update 2/13/2023: Since I posted my review last year (see Lanning Properties) there has been no attempt of any communication from the Klepec's to discuss or resolve the matter. They obviously know my complaint is valid and there is nothing to dispute. Please do your diligence and find a more experienced professional company to handle the care of your taxes this year. @ George, I am surprised and disappointed that you've ignored this.

George has done my taxes for years! Love how he puts everything into a nice folder for me all oraganzed. Also great value too!
