I spent my childhood in the 1950s and 60s with this wooden area as part of my playground. I'm not sure that translates into today's adult world or for that matter, into today's childhood world. But it is a relatively quiet place in a noisy world.

Who/why named Adena Brook? If you go from Indianola Ave west down the Cooke Rd. Hills the 1st street you get to is Adena Brook Ln., on your right. There is a tiny stream from the northeast end of Adena Brook Ln., that flows into the "Overbrook Creek" (which it should of been named). That creek begins in a drainage basin at the corner of Maize Rd. & Shanley Dr. That water comes from sewers towards Morse Rd, & from Karl Rd.Then comes out in a front yard on Maize Rd., just south of Garden Rd. Then it joins a creek (that was a few creeks piped in) & Brookhaven High School was built on top of it, both creeks join in a front yard, 2 houses before Glenmawr Ave. North of Cooke Rd. flows under I-71 Freeway then comes out to the Overbrook ravine just west of Indianola Ave. across the street from Cooke Rd. It Flows West thru the Park of Roses into the Olentangy River. I've been living near this rain drainage ditch since my parents bought our home in 1965. I still live in this area. D.R.C.
