Much more than just movers; they cared for my parents every step of the way, from making sure the right pillows ended up on the right side of the bed, to taking a moment when things got too overwhelming for one or the other of my parents, which occasionally happened. Compassionate, caring, kind and experienced people without exception. They are well suited for this work by temperament and by training. Kudos in particular to Melissa as our project manager: things went exactly as she forecasted, and she had the softest heart of all!

I could not be more pleased or say enough kind words about Smooth Transitions. From the initial consultation with Richard to our many packing days spent with Becky, we were always met with a smile, a positive attitude and a willingness to help in any way they could. My mom, who was apprehensive about the move, could not be more pleased and my sister and I have never felt so relaxed during this type of transition. I would recommend Smooth Transitions to anyone who is in the process of helping someone downsize, in particular into senior living. The staff is patient, kind and caring and you will not regret choosing them!

Melissa and Smith Transitions did an incredible job moving our 89 year old parents! My folks were very apprehensive about their downsizing and moving to a new place. Smooth Transitions were very emphatic, patient and caring, taking the time to make my parents feel more at ease thru the process. When we opened the door to the new place my folks and I were completely blown away! The new apartment instantly looked and felt like home - right down to the photos, nick nacks and magnets on the fridge. I cant imagine how we ever would have gotten thru the transition without them! Thank you to Melissa and the entire Smooth Transitions team!!

When my parents decided to downsize from their 4000sq ft home to an apartment in Cambridge Village, I saw them struggle with the task of figuring out what to move and where it could go and worried how they would ever do it. When a friend told me about Smooth Transitions, it sounded amazing that they could take on this task successfully. I was a little skeptical but read the other reviews and connected them to my parents. The result was wonderful - better than I'd hoped for. What Smooth Transitions gets right is that their job is not so much about physically moving their my parent's property, but in the relational work of learning what has to move with my parents to make it feel like home. I watched in appreciation as Melissa and her team patiently went from room to room looking at each item and helping them through these decisions over the course of six meetings! When moving day came it was unbelievably smooth. It took less than three hours for the movers to move everything to my parents new home and the whole place was finished and ready for my parents to see later that afternoon! They are so good on the details. All the many family photos and postcards made it off their old fridge and onto the new one. Even my dad's socks were folded neatly in his drawer when he got there! Amazingly, this much smaller place felt like home to me and my parents as soon as they saw it. Like me, you will probably look up several downsizing movers before you choose one. What struck me about Smooth Transitions is that their reviews were so heart-felt and personal. I now know why. They did a beautiful thing for my parents to take something scary and make it pleasant - something I and my siblings could never have done for them ourselves. It IS personal and we are very thankful to Richard and his fine team!
