Dirty laundry in hall on floor on second floor. Dirty wash towel, sheets, bath towels, with a faint odor. Pile of laundry was there when I check in and still not picked up when checked out the following morning! VERY UNSANITARY FOR ALL GUESTS!!!

So my stay started with great service from the person who checked me in and thats where it ended. The walk to the room was maybe a precursor to what was about to come. Everything smelt like stale smoke, with broken ice machines and dark corners. The lock on the door to my room was broken. The lighting is terrible. The aircon started making loud noises in the middle of the night which I had to turn off. In the morning I came to find that there were no bath towels and only hand towels in the bathroom as well as a toilet that did not flush. When I mentioned it to the person at the front desk at check out, they barely acknowledged it or even apologized. Ill never stay at a comfort inn again. Its way outdated and overpriced.

Before I booked a room at the Comfort Inn in Pinehurst, I asked a family member about their stay. I was told that it was "Just okay, but not as nice as the other hotels that they booked in the area." So when I arrived, I drove around the building to see its appeal from outside. The building looked dirty like it needed either powerwashing or a fresh coat of paint. The landscaping next to the building did not seem well maintained, but I decided to delay making an assessment until after going to my hotel room. While the desk attendant was professional and kind, I waited in line to check in for at least 15 mins. When I finally got to my room after a long travel day, the first thing I saw next to the toilet was a smattering of blood on the walls. When I went to call the front desk, the phone did not work, and it was filthy (very dusty and dirty). I immediately used my cell phone and told the front desk attendant, who was professional and understanding, that I wished to check out, which I did. God smiled on me as I was quickly able to find a nice, clean, attractive room in a well maintained hotel (Holiday Inn Express Suites) less than a mile away for about the same price. Since I booked the hotel through AARP, I was able to promptly get a refund. The next morning, I called and shared my concern with the Comfort Inn Asst GM, who was also professional and courteous; however, she had little time to hear my full story because she was busy trying to check in new customers. My family member and I plan to never recommend or be a customer at this hotel again. The Hotel boasts of being "Comfort Inn in Pinehurst," and from growing up in the area, Pinehurst has always been associated with affluence. It does not represent Pinehurst well. It's so unfortunate because, given its location, with good management and maintenance, it could rival other hotels in the area.

BEWARE!!! The WORST customer service ever!! ONLY gave a one star because I had to, to be able to post! I called and made a reservation for 1-room arriving Monday 3/11 and departing Wednesday 3/13. I saw on my checking act. the original amount was taken out but also another charge for $180.40. I called the hotel and spoke with front desk, there was no reservation! But they did find it but it was reserved for Sunday 3/10 to Wednesday. The $180.40 charge was a no show fee. I told the manger that I called and made this for Monday 3/10-Wednesday 3/13 because my husband was taking a class and he drove in Monday morning. Her response was this was made for Sunday and he was a no show we could have booked that room but he didn't show up, I told her once again I did not make the reservation for that date, she said most people come in the day before and go to the classes. Well I'm sorry but "most" is not everyone!, we could not see to book or afford to book for 3 days when he could drive in. She said she was booked but did find a room for him, and told me she would talk to the girl that did the reservation and if she doubted then could refund my money, I told her of course she going to say she didn't make a mistake she don't want to get in trouble and her response was oh she wont be in trouble. Did you not get a email confirmation? I said no she did not even ask for my email I do have my confirmation, and it was emailed to a different email but that is still NOT their fault!! Maybe there should be training on asking if any information has changed?! So after the room is found and reserved again, the conversation was left that the girl that made my reservation wrong would be in at 3 and we would go from there... Well my account was immediately drafted for $92.40. Did the manager change my email to be correct NO, did she give me a confirmation NO I had to call back and ask for it. I call corporate they change my email, and a refund is to be sent to me, because they understand it is not fair to charge for a mistake that is not mine. I call the hotel at 4:06pm to speak with manager to see what the status is ,and she is gone for the day, I ask the front desk if she can tell me what the $92.40 is for and she said no you have to talk to her, she gave me an email address that did not even work! I will NEVER recommend this hotel, the staff and manager need to go back to entry level and be re-train on what their jobs are!!! Simple customer service is not hard to do!
