Super simple appointment, drop Off and notification when completed. And a discount to boot, great deal

Ive been going to banfield for 4 years, never have I ever had such a terrible, appalling experience until today. Ive had a few questionable experiences and just put it up to them being very busy. But today was just inexcusable. Let me start by prefacing, I know what a drop off appointment is. I didnt make one not being aware that it could take a good portion, if not the whole day. My issue isnt that it took 6 hours for my dog to be seen. Its that I had to call at 4:45 (12pm drop off time) to ask for an update just to be met with a rude front desk lady that acted so inconvenienced to me asking questions. I live about 40 minutes from the office so I stayed in Jacksonville to save myself a drive home, because when I dropped her off the girl told me the vet was busy and it may be a couple of hours. Now a couple hours to me is like 2-3. So when 4+ came, I called to check on her. Keep in mind I only brought her because she was having some allergy related symptoms, but has never had issues with allergies and I wanted her checks and her anal glands expressed. I told the lady when I called to check that I was just going to pick her up because she is not kenneled, ever, and probably is feeling a bit anxious having been kenneled all day, she responded by saying well she seems just fine She huffed and puffed on the phone, telling me the dr was in surgery all day and that my dog was 6 out of 8 more patients, this wasnt told to me beforehand, otherwise I most likely would have rescheduled. I reluctantly said Ill just wait after they said it would be another 30/45 minutes thinking Id hate to have had her in there all day and have no answers whatsoever. So I mentioned again, if it takes longer than 30 more minutes that I would be going home to wait for the call considering I waisted my day hanging out in town for 6 hours, and that when they call it will just take me about 39ish minutes to get there, putting the time line around 6. She again huffed and puffed, I guess it inconvenienced their schedule even though they had no regard for my own. The vet finally calls and says her lungs are fine, Id give her 2 Benedryl before we take further action and maybe baby wipe her face after she comes inside 6 hours in a kennel for nothing to be done until I called, then To have the vet tell me to just give her benedryl. I was livid and a bit heartbroken that I knew my dog was probably feeling in trouble and anxious. I go and pick her up, wait another 20 minutes while people who came in after me to get their pet. THEN I get told her anal gland werent even expressed. I was first told they may have been empty when I asked why that wasnt done (they are never empty) then she comes back out to tell me that she was too nervous to get it done and they didnt want to put more stress on her. Im thinking, oh, I thought she was perfectly fine so the ONE THING I asked over a 6 hour time frame wasnt even done, then my dog was blamed for being too anxious when it was actually just them putting her on the back burner. A vet doesnt even have to be the one to express the anal glands so what the hell were the 9 other people in the office (I counted the names on the board) doing all day that they couldnt take 5 minutes to get that done??? Im so disgusted and upset with how I and my dog were treated. It took them 20 minutes to bring her to me saying she was too anxious to come out of the kennel. YOU DONT THINK?? This isnt about a drop off visit that I willingly signed up for, its about the lack of communication and the the obvious neglect and lack of care my dog received. I will absolutely not be back. I refuse to spend another dime at a place that cares so little for my pet, completely neglected her, then took ZERO responsibility. Stop taking every dog possible during a drop off visit and be realistic with how many pets you can accommodate in a specific timeframe. this is my best friend, who was cooped up and kenneled all day, NOT TREATED FOR ANYTHING, then blamed for being anxious?? Ridiculous.
