My neighbor directly behind me (County Property), decided she would burn something on a semi windy day, and my neighbor (City Property) notified me that trees in my back yard were on fire. To my surprise, this fire station came out, and as I approached them (in a panic and worried), I could sense they did not want to be bothered by their demeanor. Beyond Rude is an understatement, and I did not feel my initial concerns- regarding what the neighbor was burning was answered. Instead two of them looked at each other as if I was a total bother but - they were in MY BACKYARD, on my property, with multiple hose trying to tackle whatever my neighbor behind me was burning. To try to justify her negligence, their unprofessional comment was that we see this all the time, and its legal. And they may have been absolutely right that its legal to burn trash of some sort in the county. But its illegal, when youre impeding the integrity of city property and my property line. If I would have had a fence, it would have done a vast amount of damage and possibly burned my home- considering the amount of my property line that was burned.I felt as if my concerns were not addressed and I was brushed off. Totally displayed no sense of care for my concerns and I felt the two gentleman that I spoke to from this firehouse were unprofessional and handled my worries totally ethically. Imagine if you received a call that the trees behind your home are on fire! You will panic! You will worry because ultimately- you assume the worse. This was scary for me, and I do not appreciate the response and lack of care provided. The neighbor (County Property), should have been made aware that she should burn items in her yard, and on her property. She should have also been made aware to purchase a barrel to burn all the trash she wants in. Never EVER, should someone elses property be impeded by a negligent neighbor who simply wants to burn trash. I doubt she was made aware considering the way my concerns received zero care from this fire department. Poor rapport established with your area community in my opinion.
