My granddaughter bought a Clayton Home out of Tappahannock Virginia. My wife and I are going to be doing a modular home next to them. I asked about her experience and she told me to use someone else because they were terrible to work with. That being said I decided that we were going to at least talk with them because I will be doing a lot of the work myself. I decided to check out their reviews before calling them and now I am second guessing even calling them. The second part of my being leary of them is their website or should I say lack of. Being a prior owner of a very high end business that has one of the most visited websites in the world because of all the information that we provided for the customer, Clayton will not let you look at anything until you give them all of your information. This reeks of them bombarding people with relentless emails, texts, and phone calls to try and get you buy from them. They should take that time and energy and use it to make their existing customers happy and future customers have a great experience by building trust with them through transparency and information. Not hiding their information until they have all of your contact information.

I reported a leaking problem in August 2021. They sent a man out who said no leaks. Cant see one. Tonight after a major pipe bursting I was told by my plumber every pipe under my house is leaking. Where these metal things are clamped. Also he said theres no way the guy Clayton Homes sent out ever looked for a leak because he never took down any of the insulation or the plastic to look. Now I have to get all the pipes under my house fixed and I need all new insulation. The underneath of my home is flooded. We have only been in our home a year Oct 2021. These people that work in the Elizabeth City office are a joke. My daughter and Son n law ordered a home though them and they got the wrong home and guess what the home they walked though and picked out was given to someone else. Not even a joke. So we are trying to help them figure out where we start to get some of the things inside the house fixed. The house they picked out had brown cabinets. This home has white cabinets. So we need to fix that. There home also had a sliding glass door in the back. So Clayton has to take out two windows and put in a sliding glass door. There home had an A roof. This one does not. There house had stainless steel appliances and this one does not. What a mess all the way around with two homes from Clayton Homes in Elizabeth City NC. We sure wish Darren, Robin and Lisa were back then nothing would be as messed up as this nightmare. Kimberly Foster 104 Trout Terrace Grandy NC
