Stayed here just a night when in Durham on business and found the rooms to be clean, affording a nice view of downtown Durham. In particular however we appreciated the kind and courteous staff and the nice snack/breakfast! In particular, we appreciated Betty in the food service area, who went out of her way to take care of us and Raymond, who was so lovely and kind helping us with our car! Nice people just make your stay! Food & drinks: Wonderful breakfast with nice selection of hot and cold items and drinks.

I stayed in March on Businesses. The hotel feels quite small with a very open plan but narrow feeling strip lobby. The M lounge takes up one end and looks very temporary and awkwardly placed with glass automatic doors - it reminded me of a hospital. The lobby has a small convenience store/shop tucked in, which is fortunate as there is nothing in the town. The two elevators which service the rooms are slow and small, often meaning a wait to get up or down. The staff are all kind and helpful. The room is pretty standard. It was a little gloomy with low power yellow bulbs on 5 different switches. In my room a lamp wasn't working which should really have been checked. In my room in particular there was a constant humming noise even when the a/c was off. The bathroom had a retro fitted frosted glass sliding door, which was trying to be chic but looked tacky and was more of an inconvenience making a loud rumbling when opening and closing. The bathroom was clean and provided a minimum of soaps etc. The bath based shower was nice and powerful but lacked finesse when setting the temperature. The room has a coffee maker with a few complementary items, mini fridge and $8 water bottles in the room. Overall the hotel felt very dated with a thinly veiled, cheap, attempt at modernizing. Perfectly serviceable but not a premium hotel.
