I delivered my baby here last week and every single person from the front desk receptionist, to the nurses, to the midwives, to the doctors, were absolutely phenomenal! They made my husband and I feel so loved and supported throughout the entire L&D process. I cannot thank them enough for being so kind and gentle and supporting us through our first few nights being parents. I wanted to give a special shout to the nurses Emily, Dannie, Ginny (midwife), Bella, and I wish I could remember all of the other amazing peoples names that supported us while we were there. Being a first time parent is a little nerve wracking and they made us feel so confident and gave us all the tools we needed to thrive at home. Thank you times a million to the staff at Ballantyne Medical Center! Highly recommend delivering here! Theres no other place Id go back to!

Long wait waited over 4 hours for test results and diagnosis. ER didn't appear to be very busy

Wife was in extreme pain, misdiagnosed and released saying nothing they can do. Nurse even joked saying you can go to Atrium, only one doctor on staff so they couldn't get a 2nd opinion. Today at the recommendation of her doctor she went to Atrium Mercy. Using the same CT scan they caught what Novant missed and are working on an actual treatment plan. Can't speak for Novant in general, but will avoid the Ballantyne hospital moving forward. More concerned about pushing you out the door to free a bed than actually caring for their patients.

RN, CLNC, CASE MANAGER, FORMER FAMILY PRACTICE NURSE MANAGER for NOVANT- REVIEW: I was taken by ambulance to this location's ER for difficulty breathing (I knew I had the flu + asthma going in). I was introduced by two (very competent and A+) first responders women to a few staff at the ER and then taken to a triage room. A young ER woman took my vital signs, did not speak more than a couple of words, never smiled or asked me how I was doing. She led me past a nurse doing her nails to an ER room where a physician's assistant came in to "assess" me. He listened to my lungs, said they sounded clear. He ordered an xray and flu/rsv and covid tests. No head to toe assessment was done (eyes, ears, nose, throat weren't even looked at). The X-ray tech came in (I hope they give him a raise because he was SO kind AND professional). I had a brochospasms while in the xray room. He took care of me and showed compassion. A male nurse then swabbed my nose for testing (he was nice too). Shortly after I was back in the ER room, the PA came in. I began having some difficulty again. He sat in the chair across from me and watched me struggle (literally without a word). I eventually was given a needed prescription (to help with coughing fits) and I left to go home. I am a RN, a legal nurse, a case manager and I am writing to warn you: What this ER is doing is inadequate, and very dangerous. Stay away and don't send your family there until they teach their staff the basics of medicine, starting with compassion.

**EMERGENCY ROOM NIGHTMARE** I highly recommend that you just choose to go elsewhere. We went in on a Saturday afternoon at around 1:30 (est.), we did not leave until close to about 6 hours later; 7:30 or so. The check-in desk process was brief and incomplete, I would later learn why. The initial nurse consult was fairly quick and then the wait began. After about 3 hours we were finally called back to a triage area where another patient was already receiving services. I mistakenly thought that this was a temporary room; until a nurse came in to ask detailed questions in front of everyone. Each patient was questioned and examined in the triage room with no regard for any privacy. I have never experienced anything like that before. They all seemed to think that it was normal. There were four patients in that area at one point. No privacy at all....... One female was suffering with a very private issue and given no regard for her privacy! At the same time, I hear staff members chit chatting and having non-work related loud conversations. Staff members staying in some rooms for excessive amounts of time, not on task. The entire setup and operation of this emergency room is ineffective and BROKEN! Finally the Dr. comes in and confirms my concern. She states that we would have additional wait time if we expected a private examination room; this is after at least 4-5 hours of waiting. She seemed knowledgeable and kind given the situation. No one should have to work under these circumstances. To add to the nightmare. It seems that they were unable to confirm our insurance, even though it was in their system as the primary doctor is a part of Novant. Again, in the public triage area, we were repeatedly asked to confirm private, confidential information out loud for all to hear. It was embarrassing and stressful to say the least. This leads me back to the front desk person. Just a complete waste of time. Not helpful at all. COLD and Nonchalant.......period. We will NEVER return to this facility and I suggest that if you care about the health and sanity of yourself and your loved ones; avoid it. It is shamefully BROKEN; such a beautiful facility with nothing to offer the community in the way of quality healthcare. They need to start over with staff and training....the CULTURE IS MISSING!! The climate is SAD and MISERABLE. Save yourself the poor quality experience and seek services elsewhere. **I should have read the reviews and avoided this nightmare all together.**
