Wasted my life with a post where the apartment is literally twice the asking price

My boyfriend and I rented from Tom Adams for roughly one year. Anytime there was an issue, Tom and his maintenance guy Jim always got back to us very quickly. Tom also was very communicative anytime an issue arose. It was a pleasure to rent from him.

Do yourself a favor and dont rent from Tom Adams. I should have listened to the other reviews on the internet, but Tom can be pretty convincing and seems like a nice guy, but all he wants is your money. I rented from him for 3 years, had a lot of issues while living there which he refused to fix. My apartment flooded 3 times during the time I lived there, once from a frozen pipe, once from the upstairs neighbors leaving their bathtub running and third for the super leaving water running. Mold began to grow where the water had leaked through in the ceiling because he didnt clean all the water out, even though I told him there were wet spots. When I asked him to clean it he told me it was my fault for not opening up windows and letting air into the apartment. Mind you I lived on the first floor, it was the dead of winter and he wrote in the lease agreement not to open windows and let heat out, so he contradicted himself. My parents and I worked really hard to clean the apartment and leave it spotless when I moved out for the next tenant (I took care of all the mold) and he still refused to give me my security deposit back. Never even told me why he wouldnt give it to me, I called numerous times and left messages and never heard back from him. Just like the other reviews state, he is a slumlord and not worth your time. If you dont believe me, believe his 1.5 star rating on yelp, Tom Adams is not a good landlord.
