the one star is for the area which is okay, but this complex is the worst. It is dull and dark. outdated buildings and apartments not worth what theyre asking. had my buzzer rang strange hours of the night and day on multiple occasions, they do not have video intercom and didnt at all consider adding it so I felt very unsafe while living here

Do NOT rent at this complex. I have been here for 6 years and it has continued to decline every year. Let us count the ways Elmwood Court is not recommend. 1) Rent will be raised every year, regardless. Expect to pay $40-60 more a month at renewal time. When you ask why the answer is some vague version of going rates are higher. Yet, when compared the more expensive properties offer swimming pools, updated kitchens, fitness centers and more square footage. 2) Management continuously fails to address tenant concerns. Neighbors are allowed to have their children running, screaming and jumping throughout hallways and in their apartments. Walls are paper thin. You will hear everything. We have sent numerous emails about neighbors smoking weed inside, screeching children at all hours of the day/night and even a neighbor who thought it was ok to ring our buzzer for 5 minutes at 130 AM. Management has never directly addressed the issues and instead sends a letter to everyone in the building. 3) These buildings are old and in need of significant maintenance. The gutters leak so bad that it comes in our window, floods the sidewalks and destroys the stoop. When we moved in we mentioned it and two years later, nothing has been done. The back door to our building was not properly closing. Our neighbors continuously were too lazy to ensure it shut behind them leaving the entire building open for whoever wanted to walk in. It took 4 months of non-stop nagging, emails and more of those letters before maintenance came to fix the door. It still doesnt work properly but at least we havent found it open in a few weeks. In both of the apartments I have lived in, the boiler has stopped working during frigid cold snaps. I have woken up to 50 degree apartments and had to endure days and some times up to a week of run around before anything way done. Last time it happened, I was told my apartment was 57 because a window wasnt locked. Yeah, you read that right. (Insert eye roll). Laundry is not in every building the way they infer. In our case, we have to walk through 4 fire doors to get to 2 washers and 2 dryers for 16 2-bedroom apartments. Good luck not hurting yourself pushing 4 heavy doors with laundry in your hands. And hopefully, you time it just right and none of the other potentially 60 people in the building are doing laundry when you want to. Do not expect to get a continuous warm shower. Water temps change frequently and some times drastically. Management blames this on other apartments and their use of showers/toilets despite what time of day you experience it. 4) Neighbors here are one of two kinds. The single apartments tend to be filled with working folks that keep to themselves. But, there are plenty of younger tenants that enjoy late night parking lot parties, smoking weed outside windows or even in the buildings, or even moving out at 4 am. Management will do nothing about them. We have had to call the police a handful of times after management did nothing about abusive couples fighting, people screaming in the middle of the night like they have been attacked and even people lurking behind cars in the poorly lit parking lot. Overall, its beyond disappointing to write this review. I loved my apartment the first two years I was here but the last 4 have seen a severe and serious decline in the quality of service, the neighbors and the buildings themselves. The awful experiences, ever increasing rent and lack of management action is simply unacceptable.

Came into the rental office to inquire about future residency. I was greeted to excellent care by Ellaine who was very helpful. She had all the answers to my questions about finding a place there. Looking forward to moving in within the near future and dropping a second review.
