Not friendly towards other non-profits in the area. Unwilling to assist or go the extra mile. I am surprised given the nature of their work.

Pros:
*I made some beautiful connections
*The surrounding nature and wild life is breathtaking.
Cons:
*The People and Culture department is really NOT for the people.
*Very cliquey and no genuine sense of belonging.
*Gives the appearance of being a spiritual community, but is clearly all about profit.
*Not a place for people who are doing the real inner work and serious about their spiritual path.
*Besides the salad bar, a lot of processed, carb-heavy food that reminded me of a high school cafeteria.
*No real support for their staff's well-being or the space to express grievances.
*For the amount being taken out of paychecks, the living spaces are deplorable and need to be updated.
Advice to Management:
My advice is to hold up a mirror and ask yourself, "When it comes to my job, am I living in integrity?" You can have all the retreats and ceremonies you want, host the best of the best spiritual teachers, use the perfect wording to get your retreat center to stand out amongst the masses--but it still won't hide the fact that Omega Institute is brewing a very toxic work culture. I've lived in a lot of communities and have seen the best and the worst--but nothing prepared me for what I experienced at Omega. I wanted to come to this place for years and it's safe to say that I will NEVER return. Not as staff or otherwise. The Universe sees everything that you do and until you start doing right by your staff in a way that is genuine and not FAKE--you'll continue to have turnover and reviews like this.
