    Alissa offered me a ton of wonderful advice from her many years of research on Intuitive Eating. I was very new to IE when I started with her and she was great at helping me through some difficult times in the process and handled my fears, questions, and uncertainties with words of wisdom and no judgement. She also provided me the "Intuitive Eating" book and workbook, which were extremely helpful as guidance during the process. After every session, she sent me articles, video clips and other book recommendations for me to look into based on the conversation we had that week. Alissa is very easy to talk to- shes kind and easy to open up to. She handled our sessions almost like therapy, just specific to food and body image. I loved the way we navigated every step of the process together. I felt like she was on my team and had my back throughout it all. I would absolutely recommend Alissa to anyone just starting out on this journey! She was an integral part of my healing and I would never be as far along as I am now without Alissa!

    I started working with Alissa bc the thought of going on another diet made me cry. Ive tried every diet that exists only to gain more weight over time. The more I would restrict food the more binge eating I would do just to start the diet cycle all over again. I startled listening to intuitive eating podcasts and came across Alissas website as a registered intuitive eating. I started my intuitive eating journey and took a leap of faith with Alissa. This was the best decision I made for myself and for my future. I no longer binge eat, I allow myself to indulge, and I can recognize how specific foods make me feel a certain way. I also no longer diet, and I can easily identify all the diet culture we are surrounded by. Having sessions with Alissa has allowed me to truly enjoy life and focus on other things beside body size and food. I have better self confidence and awareness. My stress levels are also significantly lower on a day to day basis. My life now consists of fun recipe books, not breaking plans with friends or social events due to dieting, self care that includes gentle nutrition and joyful movement. My relationship with food would have never been this way if I didnt go through the steps and process w Alissa. She is so easy to talk to and always has a way of looking at each issue in a way I could have never rationalized by reading an intuitive eating book, through a podcast, or on my own. She is not only passionate about what she does shes knowledgeable and has resources for each issue that may need working through. If you are even considering this you are probably like me. Take a leap of faith. I promise its worth investing this time on YOU and not worth trying to obsess over changing your body. Its not where the happiness lies!!     Alissa is so fantastic to work with! I did an intuitive eating program with her where weekly we would check in on things such as goals, the food journal she had me keep to see how I felt with certain foods, and she'd give me several articles to read and talk points for our next phone chat. The whole process was extremely therapeutic for me. I grew up in a home where I didn't have home cooked meals or much of a reference of healthy eating (think hamburger helper, mac and cheese, and canned fruit) so my childhood consisted mainly of fast food. I struggled a lot with what to cook for myself and also binge ate things like chips and cookies whenever I'd have them around (surprisingly with all that fast food, I wasn't allowed sweets in my house so I'd sneak them whenever I could, and would stash the wrappers behind curtains at my godmothers house, establishing a feeling of guilt and shame around these items.) Alissa helped me recognize my negative traits surrounding food, and helped coach me into a positive mindset where I could have the things that I enjoyed such as a bag of chips or cookies, and be able to keep these items in my apartment without me eating the whole bag until I felt sick, instead I'd stop when I felt satisfied. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy eating larger portions of these snacks, but now I don't feel guilty afterwards. Another thing that was really helpful was having her as I was training for my very first half marathon. Alissa helped me integrate breakfast into my life and also a healthier balance of cooking and exercise that has become my routine. It was great to have someone "coaching" me through this intense training I had going on, and overall I developed a better relationship with exercise along the way, and now, even though I haven't been running as much since, I do regularly work out 3-5 days a week. Alissa is an incredibly smart, helpful, encouraging and inspiring woman to have in your life throughout your journey establishing a positive relationship with food. She promotes a balance of healthy living with just LIVING- enjoying the foods that make YOU happy, not just the ones that society pegs you should eat if you want to be "healthy." I love her body positive messages and she's starting a revolution with her #womeneatingfood which is just fantastic to watch! Women of all shapes and sizes are sharing photos of them eating things like pizza, sushi, burgers, sweets, and more- not just the stock photo of a skinny woman eating a salad that society likes to promote. Basically, hire Alissa and you will not only gain confidence in yourself, but you'll also gain a friend!
