I am grateful to have found my calling in medicine and gynecology, and if I can help people get healthier, I will have served my purpose."- Anna Barbieri MDÂAs a dual board-certified gynecologist and integrative medicine physician, Dr Barbieri’s passion is truly personalized,  patient-centered care of women.  She believes that optimal health is not merely the absence of illness, but a state of vitality and balance. From preventive care to complex gynecologic issues such as endometriosis, PCOS or fibroids, Dr Barbieri partners with her patients to help them maintain or restore optimal gynecologic health, using many modalities: behavioral change, nutrition, botanical and herbal options, and  medical and surgical options when appropriate. Dr Barbieri also has special expertise in helping navigate the transition of perimenopause and menopause, where she focuses on each patient customizing nutrition, lifestyle, and use of hormonal (including bioidentical) or nonhormonal treatments when appropriate. Additionally, the practice collaborates closely with top experts in the allied fields of nutrition, psychology, endocrinology, internal medicine, gynecologic oncology and fertility medicine as well as integrative services of functional medicine, acupuncture, and traditional chinese medicine.Dr. Barbieri graduated from Colgate University and obtained her medical degree from the State University of New York in Syracuse. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, where she is now an Assistant Clinical Professor and a member of the Mount Sinai Center of Excellence for menopause.  She is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a Certified Menopause Practitioner of the North American Menopause Society. She also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and the Integrative Medicine fellowship under the direction of Dr. Andrew Weil at the Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona School of Medicine.  Dr. Barbieri is also the founding physician of Elektra Health, a digital menopause education company.  ÂIn her spare time, Dr. Barbieri loves to spend time with her family, her dog Remy, hike, grow tomatoes, and listen to music.  Her favorite musical artist is Freddie Mercury.Â
