image very disappointed in our stay at this hotel based on the ratings both on here and on various travel sites, especially given that the room was almost $400 a night after fees. first, after arriving exhausted from a red eye flight they charged us an extra $40 for early check in, which begs the question of what they would've done if we didn't pay it - just let the room sit empty while we tried not to fall asleep on the lobby couch?
next, the "Celebrity King" room was absolutely tiny and not laid out well to use what little space there was. I knew it would be small but actually staying in it made the name feel extra patronizing.
other issues:
- the "everything button" assistant device was broken so the front desk staff had to give out their cellphone number
- the elevator broke during our stay (with our room being on the 19th floor)
- I called beforehand and asked if they'd have umbrellas to loan out, they said yes and then were out of umbrellas during our entire stay
- no hairdryer in the room
the one upside was that the location was terrific and made walking around Manhattan and taking the metro very easy. if you get a good deal on this place (say, under $200 a night) I'd say it's worth the downsides but for the price I really wish I'd picked a different hotel.

We did grant and approve your requested early check in request for the amount. This has us prioritize and expedite the cleaning of your room to check in by noon. All our rooms do have hair dryers and they are located under the sink in a hair dryer bag and we always have more for guests who need more than one. I apologize for the malfunctioning assistance device, the broken elevator, and the lack of available umbrellas. We understand how these issues, combined, could significantly impact your stay.We are taking immediate steps to ensure our amenity stock and maintenance procedures are reviewed and improved to prevent such occurrences for future guests.While we're glad you found our location to be convenient, we recognize that it doesn't offset your overall experience. image We were thrilled with the location and the service by the front desk was sublime! Theres only one but! The rooms were TINY! Like sooo tiny! I wanna say theyre like 10 feet by 12 feet. Whew! But rooms were super clean and the bed was comfy. My bedroom at home is 4 times the size of this one so Im a bit spoiled but really if I were alone, Id stay here again or book a conjoining room for my daughter. Cant stay in this room with anyone else again! Location is PERFECTION! Way to go, Staypineapple!
