I stay here and the front desk was unprofessional,the hotel looked run down and the elevator is badly damaged.but the pros of the hotel is the breakfast and location

The room was fine (but was missing the deadbolt on the door) and the hotel was nicely located. However, there are only two slow, small elevators for the entire 31-floor hotel. We waited several minutes for an elevator multiple times before ultimately deciding to walk down 11 flights of stairs, so this is really not a handicap-accessible hotel.
Most importantly, I have genuinely never experienced such bad customer service in my life.
We ended up spending longer in a museum than expected, so around 11:30 we called the hotel to request a late checkout. We wouldve been back around 12:15, 15 minutes after checkout, at the time we called. Given that we were in a museum, though, we were unable to continue on until we were off the phone.
After half an hour on hold, it hit noon and we double checked the app to ensure we hadnt been checked out or anything. Of course, for whatever reason, we had been automatically checked out. As wed left all our luggage in the room, and had no indication of how much longer wed be on hold, we called the Hilton Help Desk. Over the course of 40 minutesit was 12:40 when we got off the phone with the help desk, so at this point we had been on hold with the hotel for over an hourtwo people from the help desk tried to contact the hotel and they too were placed on hold indefinitely.
At this point, after even the corporate help desk had been unable to get in contact, we had no choice but to return to the hotel without continuing through the museum. We arrived back at 1:00. We were still on hold. That is an hour and a half on hold at this point.
When we walked in, there were four employees behind the front desk and not a single guest in the lobby. Again, we walked in to this, while still on hold. When we informed someone at the front desk that we had been on hold for an hour and a half, and that the help desk had tried to reach them several times as well, we received completely unreasonable responses: Well no need to come storming in here. Did they seriously not understand why we were so frustrated? Well I just finished helping someone. And is this someone in the room with us? And you seriously didnt have a single minute in AN HOUR AND A HALF to take us off hold? And, my favorite one, oh if you left your stuff in the room its probably still there. Probably. We received no apologies or even an acknowledgment that theyd screwed up.
I will never stay here again. As someone whos worked in customer service before this behavior is absolutely unbelievable.
