We had Ace Handyman Services of Buffalo Southtowns give us an estimate. The representative,Lucas was very polite. I know material,labor and insurance has gone up but their price for my estimate was 60% higher than the 3 other licensed and insured contractors who also give me estimates.

I did the online quote once received I called and spoke to Melissa with questions. She gave answers that made sense so I decided to take work off based on their pricing I could have done cheaper and asked to have a new quote and perhaps somebody come out to take a look at the job to make sure nothing else is needed. Shortly after I received an email stating it wasn't necessary for someone to come out to look at the job and received the requested second quote. The second quote didn't make any sense the bigger job was $500 less from the original quote so I attempted to try to call leaving a message however Melissa never called back. I decided to go ahead and do another online quote and yet was ignored/unresponsive. This company is not reliable and you're taking a chance on their quote without anybody coming out to see what needs to be done! I know for myself I'm not going to spend $100 an hour for somebody to go shopping for more material if needed nor will I agree to book work when they won't respond or answer their phone. This place does not come off to be reputable but thank goodness I'm finding this out before bringing them into my home! Shame on you Ace for business manners!

Unfortunately, I didnt have the best experience with Ace Handyman Services. I decided to give them a try based on a recommendation from someone I know and after seeing all the 5-star reviews. Im not sure if I just had bad luck, but it was not a pleasant experience. I asked them to come out for several repairs on a rental property back in August, which consisted of a leak in the garage roof, several windows that had condensation in between panes, replace a bathroom exhaust fan, and a few other minor items. They came out as scheduled to give an estimate, which I approved right away, paid the down payment, and was put on the schedule for a few weeks out. Luke called the day he was supposed to arrive and said he would be late because he had to put his kids on the bus, which wasnt a big deal. He showed up, didnt spend more than 5 minutes there, then said none of the work could be completed until spring. I called the office because I was confused as to why someone would be sent out if they knew this wouldnt be able to be completed until spring, especially when they came out to give a quote, so knew exactly what kind of work was needed. They didnt seem to have replacing the exhaust fan on the list, which they said they would add. The woman I spoke to was very kind and apologetic, told me she was going to speak to Lucas who was the manager and get back to me. She got back to me in a timely manner and said Lucas was going to go out and take a look at the work that needed to be done. I didnt understand why someone had to come out again, when I already had 2 people there, but I went along with it. Lucas came out and once again I was out on the schedule for a several weeks out. The gentlemen showed up and completed the repair of the windows (the repair in the garage roof couldnt wait as we were now 2 months past the original date I called, so I had that taken care of by someone else). The windows were repaired and I was happy with them; however the bathroom exhaust fan posed to be a problem for Ace. I was told due to the age, it was hard to find a replacement. Again, I was understanding. I was told by Lucas he had someone calling the manufacturer and they were working on finding a replacement. I checked in with Lucas several times over a few weeks only to be told they were still working on it. This whole process started in August and went until November, which in itself was frustrating. I finally gave up and called another company. They came out and within a few hours had a new exhaust fan installed. I really dislike writing bad reviews, but feel I need to share my experience. I did give 2 stars rather than 1 because the windows did turn out fine once they were actually completed.
