TLDR BEWARE OF SCAM. He stole my $13,400 deposit. This guy is a smooth talker, acts like a nice guy, and makes promises he doesnt keep. Im not sure how all these people had positive experiences with this company. My guess is that he is good for smaller projects that dont require much payment upfront, but for projects that require a large deposit, he takes the opportunity to steal your money. Either that or his company is struggling recently and he feels the need to steal your money. (Notice how there are no reviews after November) For more details: I had a large leak and mold problem in my house. It was a big project costing over $26k total. He promised that my issue would be covered by my insurance and that even if they deny my claim he has an adjuster that will work to get it covered. These were all false promises so that he can get my business. The adjuster he sent me didnt even know how to write emails coherently and made me look ridiculous to my insurance company. But oh well, I still have to get this issue fixed, even if its out of my pocket. So I paid the 50% deposit, over $13k for him to begin the work. So his workers show up on the first couple of days to do a bunch of demolition and open up my walls. After opening up my walls, they tell me that they have to stop the project because David (the owner) isnt paying them. David kept claiming that he was having issues with his bank account and that he will pay them tomorrow. Since me and my family couldnt live in our house while this was being done, I couldnt just sit around and wait with hopes that he will pay the workers one day. So David and I agreed that I will work with the contractor directly and pay him directly and that I will dispute the credit card to Big Apple Mold since he is no longer doing this project. He said things like he was happy that I was able to move forward and apologized for the inconvenience and that he just wants me to keep his reputation in good standing. I went on with the project and fully paid the contractor as David was out of the picture. I later found out from my credit card company that David did not refund my payment. When they contacted him, he told them that we never agreed to stop his project and that he was still going to do the work. I contacted David about this. First of all, when I try contacting him he says he is busy or sick or whatever excuse, but that he will call me back and we will get this all figured out. He never calls me back and I have to always try again to call/text him. Over all these attempts and drawn out attempts at conversations, he promises me that he did refund the money to my bank and that he will do whatever it takes to sort it out. Do we think that my bank (Chase bank) is lying or mistaken? Im still waiting for him to follow through on his promise to get this figured out but he doesnt want to talk to me on the phone and every text message is met with Ill absolutely call you tomorrow. For added fun, his voicemailbox is full. At this point Ive learned that no matter how much I try to be respectful and give him the benefit of the doubt, he will take advantage of you and straight up lie. Its sad and scary how effortlessly he lies and makes you believe hes on your side. He will probably respond to this review and somehow try to make you believe that Im mistaken or making something up. If thats the case, ask him to show you evidence from his texts to me. Plus, what do I gain from lying about any of this? I just hope this guy is held accountable and no one loses their money to him again.
