I have no idea how this company has such a good review on Google. I felt that I got ripped off. My freezer wasn't working and Pete came by to take a look. He was in my house for exactly 37 minutes according to my security cameras. The second he walked into the house, he heard President Biden talking on the TV and immediately said "I want to shoot that guy in the f'n head" then proceeded to go on a 10 minute rant about fraudulent voting. He spent a good 15 minutes talking about how garbage the new fridges are and how I should buy a used 20 year old fridge. I honestly don't think he knows how "new" fridges work. My fridge was a Maytag from 2018 and he acted like it was from the future. He's like a repair person stuck in the 1980s. He proceeded to very aggressively attempt to take off the freezer door - took about 10 minutes because he didn't understand the mechanism. I couldn't get the door back in after he left. Looking back, there was absolutely no reason to take off the freezer door. Then he checked the back of the fridge for dust. There was none. He said the fridge can't be fixed and I needed to get a new one. He then said it would be a $100 service charge. When I complained about the cost. He said he worked for over an hour and anyone else would charge me $400. I told him I thought it was unreasonable and he started to curse. My elderly parents were present - I was extremely embarrassed and just wanted him to leave so I paid him and showed him the door. I don't mind paying $100 for someone that couldn't fix the fridge but did a real job in diagnosing the issue. I do mind that he was extremely unprofessional, didn't do any real work or diagnosis, was aggressive, and had an attitude. After this experience, I'm out $100 and now I have to buy a new fridge. What a waste of time and money.

Got Peter's (the son in Father & Son Appliance Repair) info via our neighborhood listserv's recommended tradespeople list. Called him Thursday, explained issue that gas oven was not turning on (but broiler and stovetop were). Sent him photos including the model placard. We agreed it was likely the igniter which had gone bad 3 years back. He was here the next day and fixed it! We commiserated over all these modern made-to-break appliances and he gave me some advice - don't use the self-clean - it could possibly melt and mess up the computer module touch screen since the vent is right under it (dumb design i.e. made to break). If any appliance breaks again, we are calling Peter!! Service: Oven repair

Had a issue with my GE Oven of course on a Sunday Afternoon, called to see if I could get a appointment during the week, "Pete" the owner answered the call & said he would come over on Sunday Evening.  I was shocked... All in all the repair took about 2 days to get the necessary parts... Oven works great & just in time for thanksgiving Turkey.    Will be using his services again...

If I was so awful why would you take my advice and buy a new fridge? , I've been repairing fridges for over 40 years I didn't just come out of school. I know what to look for. In the case of your fridge the compressor wasn't working well enough to cook off the freezer and the fridge part. Your fridge has a 220 voltage compressor that cools the freezer and the fridge part. The older ones only the freezer got cold and it sent the cold air through a vent into the fridge part. These newer ones like yours has two evaporator s the compressor has to do twice the work so don't last very long. I don't like being talked about and you making up stories because you didn't want to pay $100 for me to tell you what was wrong with your fridge. You made me sound awful because you want work done for free.
