        We tried a baguette, cookie, and amazingly complex pear vanilla tart. What a treat. Every time I have stopped by this store the staff have been absolutely lovely and so helpful! Always friendly, happy to make a recommendation, and eager to help me find the perfect baguette (which I found today!).

        Came in today and ended up getting an almond croissant. Looked delicious, but turned out to be dry and tasted burnt. $7 for a burnt croissant. Expensive and disappointing smh

        This is the second time Ive bought a loaf of bread from this place. It somehow managed to be harder than the one I bought previously. Its crazy to pay twenty bucks for a loaf of bread that the sharpest bread knife struggles to cut through. The first time this happened I thought it was a one off. But I am starting to see it as a place that only sells bricks instead loafs of bread. Bricklayers are at home here, consumers of bread are not.

How we bake our Almond Croissants, once this item completes its first bake, it is coated in a simple syrup before being baked again to create our twice baked-croissant. As this item is coated in a simple syrup before being baked again, it receives a beautiful dark outer layer from the caramelization of the extra sugars. If you found this well-done croissant was not to your liking, our team in stores is always happy to work with you to find the baked good that we think you will best enjoy.       Hello Carol, thank you for taking the time to leave a review! From your description it sounds as though you may be unfamiliar with our style of baking. At our bakeries we choose to bake our bread well-done, or "bien cuit". This style of baking pairs a slow fermentation with a long, dark bake, with many of our loaves such as our Miche being "flame kissed". This results in a dark, harder caramelized crust on many of our loaves. If you are finding this harder crust is not to your liking we also have some softer loaves available as well as a wonderful assortment of viennoiserie and desserts. Some of our softer loaves include our Pullman loaves and Pain au Lait. If you still want to experience the flavor of sourdough with a softer crust we recommend our Sourdough Pullman. Our baristas at all of our locations would be more than happy to talk with you to assist in selecting the items that would best interest you.
