Sad, You booked through an OTA who gives us no information on how to contact you except through their site which most people do not bother to go back to for directions and contact information. Next time book direct, save money, and get the room you want - all of our standard queens are small and less expensive. If less expensive is what you are going for, then yes, small.

Your embroidered account sounds dismal; It is a mystery to me as to how you climbed three stories of stairs while our building is only 2 stories. I too have traveled all over the world, 25% according to Google Maps, and Taos is the best - Touchstone is one of the last visages of Old Taos - circa 1800. So, yes it is old. I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to be - and NO, I have never lived in the room next to yours, although I do live on the property wherever I desire to be in the 5 buildings on 2 acres bordering the 94,000 acres of the Taos Pueblo Lands. We are situated in town, close to everything Taos. You did say one thing nice - "It's quiet and the bed was comfortable." So, it is curious that after over a year, you now go out of your way to leave a bad review; imagine all of the people you could have saved from your bad experience had you only left your review earlier. I recommend you stay at one of the modern cookie cutter hotels for you next visit. Also, I have always made good on a reservation which was not satisfactory if our fault - and if you never saw me, it is curious how you negotiated the lack of requested refund. The New Mexico government shut us down for 2 and a half years with COCID-19 mandates with the treat of fines and jail time, and gave us Zero of the millions provided by the Federal government to help us cover the thousands of dollars we were forced to refund. Our state takes 8.678%, our Town takes 5%, our County takes 3%, OTAs take 18 to 20%, our property management company which was active when you were here took 32% (we no longer retain their services), so with all the pimps now wanting a piece of our business, and with people like you who think anyone cares about you opinion, it is a struggle to survive. Most people who come here are not here to be entertained by media, although we do have free internet TV where you can enjoy all your Netflix shows, just bring your own hotspot and codes as ours may not work for you - nothing works in Taos like it is supposed to; it is like living in a third world country, but isn't that why we love it? Most people who come here enjoy just being able to sit under a tree in the cool, clean air of Taos and not be attacked by chiggers, ants, and ticks. Tell me how often you have ever seen or talked to the owner of a lodging establishment, and why is that important to you? Personally, my answer is, "Never," in all my travels have I ever known who is the owner of the property where I am staying. My gallery is open by appointment, and the invitation is open, but I do not recall your ever calling me - but why would you - it is obvious that you have another agenda other than the comfort or enjoyment of your stay. I am truly sorry that your stay was not up to your expectations, and wish you happy travels in the future,.
