Palacio de Marquesa

Worst hotel in Taos or otherwise! Stayed at this property once several years ago and was really looking forward to returning. After driving for 2 hours in late February, we arrived for check-in and the staff informed us they had given our room to someone else who the staff said was "staying longer" and they said they had no idea how it could happen. I showed the hotel staff our reservation and confirmation, which we had booked on their website and the staff confirmed it said "Romantic Room" and they said we had booked our reservation prior to the people staying in the room. This was the first issue and red flag that the hotel is no longer under the prior management and apparently does not value or honor reservations, even if its a cold winter day, you booked through their website and its the right thing to do. Next up, the room was very dirty, an old towel was laying on the floor to keep dirt from getting on the floor and the toilet was broken from the moment we arrived and would only flush if you added water and manually flushed it with the lever inside the lid. Sadly, I asked for a refund from the owners of this hotel, "Heritage Hotels" since they treated us horribly, gave our room to someone else and gave us a room without a working toilet but they refused to refund our money. Seriously, what does that tell you, when would it ever be ok or respectible to have hotel guests staying in a room without a working toilet?. Really disappointing stay but more so shocking how this hotel and company treats return guests. We will never stay at another Heritage Hotel and will do our best to spread the word to anyone and everyone and share our terrible experience, so no one else has to pay 300.00 dollars and be treated so poorly.

Great quiet hotel walking distance from center. Awesome service ( we were shown rooms to make sure we chose the best). Nicholas breakfasts cannot be beat! Innovative with local twists. Just finished a two night stay after one night a few months ago. Would go back- for sure. Food & drinks: Nicholas breakfasts are not to be missed. He was so accomodating when we needed to leave early. Much appreciated and really yummy!

I am so glad we found the Palacio de Marquesa and stayed here during our trip. It is such a lovely little place, with warm, romantic rooms and amazing hospitality! (Nicholas was very sweet - making sure we had everything we needed, providing wonderful recommendations of local spots to try and areas to explore, and he is an amazing cook!! He truly went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time here.) If you are looking for a luxurious experience, this is the place to come! Noteworthy details: The room was beautiful, with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The breakfast was delicious. And the hospitality made our trip.

Great stay here in Taos - the rooms are great, good value and the food every morning - breakfast is simply the best. Highly recommend
