Rodney is very knowledgeable and a true professional. We were first time home buyers and Rodney took the time to explains everything about the process before we started searching. Throughout the whole process, Rodney was always on top of everything and made our process smooth and we were always ahead of schedule. Rodneys referrals were also very professional and trustworthy. Very highly recommend Rodney for anyone interested in purchasing a property.

As my realtor Rodney Fontil and I posed for the traditional sold sign photo, with the timer running down 10 seconds on my phone camera, Rodney said something like Your neighbors are gonna wonder why theres a couple of clowns on the lawn. And I retorted Well, theyd be half right (meaning me). We had a nice laugh as the camera snapped, and that is my favorite photo of the bunch.
It was a long road getting to that joyous point, and it was not all smiles along the way. But Rodney was my faithful helmsman through it all. Being a realtor is Rodneys second priorityhis first priority is being human. Ive known him for years in our local community. His kids and my son went to the same school. His family came to my Halloween parties and on a group trip to see a show in the city. We attended many a PTA meeting together and labored side by side for months building an outdoor classroom with sun sail, a habitat garden and a 40 tree arboretum at the school.
When I got divorced and needed a rental, Rodney was always one step ahead, regularly texting me to come out of my recording booth (I was under contract to narrate an audiobook series at the time) to come look at apartments. He eventually helped me get my son and I a rental residence that lasted the last 6 years (which I just posted a goodbye tribute to a few days ago). During my turbulent tenancy there, Rodney gave me endless counsel on the tribulations there with an unscrupulous landlord. He helped me achieve some legal victories that made the place suitable and safe for raising my son.
So when it became necessary to buy, Rodney was the only realtor I considered. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, a great communicator, handled problems preemptively instead of passively, transparent and (to use a term that seems to has less opportunities to apply these days) deeply ethical. Trust takes a long time to build and is a rare commodity. Rodney had my absolute trust that he was always looking out for my best interest, and that got me through any challenge I encountered. I dont think any other realtor couldve gotten me to the finish line. Thank you Rodney. I look forward to having you and your family over for dinner in my new home.
To add to the poignancy of the sold photo moment, as we exchanged some pleasantries and appreciation, Rodney told me that, in 2013, the first family they met when they came to the area was mine. Our children were playing together in a local park and my then wife and I struck up a conversation with them. Little did I know that day how important Rodney would be for me a key moments in my life, or that at initial chance meeting we would be something of a welcome committee for them. We unknowingly were part of opening the door for them to their new family life, and years later Rodney is, literally, opening the door for mine. I am always fascinated by how beautifully orchestrated the universe is when you see it in retrospect.
