Everyone was so professional yet loving! You can see how well the people are taken care of. Feel very comfortable having my mom join their community

I moved my mother from an assisted living that had a memory care floor, to Harmony Village, which is solely devoted to memory care and dementia. It matters, believe me. These people are devoted and focused. They don't do it as a sideline. Finding Harmony Village was a great relief.

Harmony villages team made a really tough transition as easy as possible for mom and our whole family. Mom came from an assisted living facility that said they could handle her FTD and from day one it was obvious they could not. Im an emergency, we had to find her a new spot within the first 2 months Gelina worked hard to get her an apt at hv. Joan was amazing at educating me about moms condition when she assessed her. HV is the only memory care facility that I saw that had memory care specialists. It was not perfect, we needed to pay for extra aids because of moms condition but when room opened up, they moved her to a neighborhood with more support so we could not do that anymore. Mom lived in 3 neighborhoods so I got to know a lot of the staff. And there are so many really experienced and caring people there. I wont name every person because Im afraid Ill miss someone. They have activities that fit the neighborhoods and a lot of on site services. Blanca and her team kept in regular contact with me. And even the ED, Risa, was always available. When mom died with hospice care at HV we had aids hugging us with genuine care. Is dementia what anyone would want for a loved one? no. And when you do get touched by it, it can be a really lonely place. It was great to find a place where I knew both my mom and my family were well taken care of.

if I could share negative stars I would. My nana had alzheimers was here for maybe 6-7 months before she passed away, and was treated horribly. Half of the staff don't even know what to do! In their care, my nana had gotten her hand fractured/broken (she was in a wheelchair and the nurse pushed her closer to the table not realizing her hand was there, and didn't even take her to the hospital!), they wouldn't put the slippers on that we requested them too, which resulted in her stubbing and infecting her toe very badly. There would be clothes in her drawers and closet that weren't hers, and they tried to charge an extra $3k just to get in her in own room without a roomate, even though we were told she would be in a room by herself. She had to go to the hospital one time for a minor stroke (they didn't tell us until they were at the hospital) and they had my nana in dirty clothes and not her stuff. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
