I've been at this rural location for 11 years and sorta ignored the new septic, until the pump beeper/alarm thingie was blasting two nights ago. I'm good with electrical so I traced the problem to a broken pump in what's called the dosing chamber. I think the biblical rains we've been having were getting into the tank, stressing it badly. Anyway, no way was I going down there to investigate. The Coppola service sent two trucks the next day, one tech to diagnose the pump and the next was the 'honey wagon' to remove the 11 years of detritus from the tanks. The photo shows a relatively easy union on the PVC pipe to change out the pump. Overall a surprisingly good experience, with a tutorial on all kinds of aspects of the system operation. Recommended.

Just stay away from these guys unless you like getting ripped off!! The first time I used Coppola we were new to the area AND new to septic systems. I was told the total capacity of our two systems was 1500 gallons, 1,000 for the black water and 500 for grey water. When the first pumping took place, a week after we bought our home, the only number in my head was 1,500 because I was basing it on total capacity. We only had the black water pumped, one tank, not the secondary tank, so that tank only held 1,000 gallons. The driver charged us for 1500 gallons - no lie! However, I had not realized this until three years later, the second time we had the tank pumped by another, more reputable company, Septic Services, Inc. who re explained the differences and advised that the two tanks were not even in the same place. We had this company come back for the next few years, happily pumping our 1,000 gallon tank.
This year, we saw Coppola was running a special, and decided to give them a call, now that I was much more knowledgeable about the system ... trust me the "special" was not worth the effort of pulling out all my paperwork to show the driver that we only had a 1,000 gallon tank when he tried charging me for 1,200 gallons. His 'gauge' showed that he pumped 1,200 gallons from a 1,000 tank - he said maybe the tank was not the size I thought so I pulled out all my paperwork from the town when the tank was installed which reflected a 7ft concrete 1,000 tank. The driver called the company who actually had our records from the first time they were at our house and said "well we pulled 1,500 from their tank previously". Yea, that's when they RIPPED ME OFF!!!!! charging me for gallons NOT REMOVED!! He called the company back and it was agreed that I would only be charged for 1,000 and also agreed I would NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! and I had to post a star or I could not post the review... so NO STARS !!
