My vinyl tile job was 75% completed and i made the mistake of paying Erick for his services before he finished. He stopped responding completely to phone calls and emails. Garbage was not properly organized and removed. I never saw him again.

I'm a contractor myself, and have used Erick at Empire State Floors twice now to refinish existing antique oak floors. Each time he's done good by me. There was a mistake on the first job, which was completed literally as Covid was ramping up in early 2020. Erick came back and personally made sure it was made right, even as his guys were dropping out due to a warranted fear of an unknown disease. Even under those circumstances, he came through. The second job went very well, with him saving floors that I myself was unsure could be saved, ultimately saving me quite a bit of money and maintaining the historic look that was desired. These guys have earned my continued business, and will be handling a 5 unit historic apartment building for me in the coming months.

Blown away! We are absolutely thrilled with the job Erick did refinishing our hardwood floors yesterday. Only two days earlier, I requested a quote from ESHF and 3-4 other businesses. Erick responded immediately and met with us the very next day for a consultation. During the consultation, he wanted to see whether a recoat (the cheaper option) would suffice in masking the blemishes on our floors, so he asked if he could do a sample. I was immediately sold. Erick took his time on the sample, revealing that a full refinish would indeed be needed. He offered to come the next day for a price that was 70% less than a quote we had received earlier for the same job. It almost felt too good to be true. The next day, my husband was in disbelief when he arrived at the house to pay Erick at the end of the job. We went with a water base refinish; it's same-day and a little less expensive than oil base. The floors looked BRAND NEW and were blonder/less golden in color than they were previously (they're red oak floors), which we actually prefer. I wholeheartedly recommend Erick & his team at ESHF. He is responsive, professional, kind, and very highly skilled! Thank you, Erick!!
