Solnyshko Day Care Center

I found this day care center a safe and happy place for my 6 yr old . I was desperately looking for a summer camp and could find nothing with longer hours. At a very short notice Elena was happy to accommodate and provided excellent care for my kid. Although we are not Russian speaking, my kid has always felt loved here. Now 7, the day care still my go to haven when I am in need of a back up care and Elena has never said no. Highly recommend this care center.

Miss Lena and her teachers do an amazing job running this daycare. Our 4 year old absolutely loves her teachers and always comes home with a smile. Unfortunately this year our child started requiring additional medical attention, something we were not prepared for. Thankfully Ms. Lena took it upon her self to get really acquainted with managing our childs condition and shortly after got her entire staff involved with knowing this as well. We are beyond grateful to Ms. Lena and the entire Solnyshko team.

Disappointing Experience. As a concerned parent, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience.. First and foremost, the lack of communication from staff members was incredibly frustrating. Important updates regarding my child's progress or any incidents at school were nonexistent. There was no way to know what the children were doing all day at this daycare. They would not come home with any projects, homework, not even a piece of artwork in the month and a half we were there. There was no communication apps or even an instagram page. Furthermore, the curriculum seemed outdated and uninspired. My child showed little enthusiasm for the activities provided, suggesting a lack of engagement and stimulation. It's disheartening to witness such a lackluster approach to early childhood education. Aside from the aspects of the education and staff, my child consistently had unusual episodes of accidents and vomiting that did not seem to be linked to any infection or illness. On the most upsetting occasion, during lunch time, my daughter had told a staff member that she needed to use the restroom and was told that she has to wait. She ended up going number two in her pants in the lunch room. She is 4 years old and has never had an accident as such since being potty trained at 2. She consistently told me that they would tell her she has to wait until after lunch to use the restroom. When I spoke to the owner, she was inconsistent with her story about the incident. Originally telling me that she never told anyone she had to use the restroom, then she speaks very quietly and they will have to work with her to speak louder, and finally that the teacher did come up to her and asked her if she had to go number one or number two and she said number one. As if whether she had to pee or poop would make any of this better. Fast forward one week and during lunch the staff member told her to finish her food, but she did not like it. She ended up throwing up instantly as I put her in my car after school and in tears telling me she didn't like the food she was told to finish. All of this could be over looked if I didn't reach out to SEVERAL other families in Livingston that had similar experiences and had left this day care as well. So far I have yet to meet someone who has something good to say about this day care. These are just a few of my experiences at this facility, which I have plenty more of. The owner also has a ridiculous policy to notify them one month in advance if you decide to leave or you lose your deposit. So basically, my child is miserable there and I have to force them to continue to go for one more month or we lose our deposit. Obviously I care for my child far too much to put her through any more of this. I was so upset over this entire experience I did not even bother to return to pick up my children's belongings leaving behind some clothing and slippers for 2 children. Just stay away, there are plenty of lovely and wonderful daycares, including Russian based day cares, around our areas to choose from. This place is very cold and not a pleasant experience for any child or parent.

This day care exceeded my expectations. The teachers are not only experienced but genuinely love what they do. My child always comes home happy and eager to share stories from her day. It's truly a warm and loving environment, and I couldn't be happier with our choice. Thanks so much all tether and Miss Elena

I think this day care is excellent! The staff are caring and attentive, creating a safe and nurturing environment for my child. They offer a variety of activities such as dance and music classes. I highly recommend this place to any parent looking for quality child care.
