I hired Jared in July 2021 over what I thought would be a simple, straightforward case. I have a breach of contract matter with my former employer. The biggest concern I have with Jared is his inability to communicate and follow through on anything in a timely manner. Last year he sent an initial courtesy email to them about the matter and that if a response was not furnished in 90 days then we would file. 90 days elapsed and he didnt follow through. According to his timeline we should have filed in early November but it wasnt until March that it was actually done. And not for nothing, if I didnt keep pushing I doubt it would have ever been done. I actually had to call the municipal court to find out if it was done because I couldnt reach him to obtain the docket number.
In all this mess throughout the past year I simply have countless texts from Jared where he promises to call or follow up with me yet he NEVER DOES. I always end up having to call him only to receive text messages once his voicemail picks up and he says that he is still in court.
I understand my case is very low on the totem pole and have even acknowledged that much with him. But the fact that in over a years time Ive been on the phone with Jared just three times and have spoken with him less than one hour says just how much of a priority my case is to him.
If I werent this far in the process I would hire another attorney. His lack of communication and inability to follow up are disgraceful. And not to mention- he has a paralegal that doesnt ever have much information either. Attorneys are busy, I get that. But given that, wouldnt it make sense to have your paralegal informed to field some questions or have some updates for clients? All I get from the paralegal essentially is a Hes in court today and will be back on x-date.
How can a professional break so many promises?? When people say they hate attorneys - this a clear case for why. If you have a smaller, not so lucrative case, Id think twice before hiring this attorney.

Jared has been my family court lawyer for over 7 years now. I have been with other attorney's that have ran up the bill on me and did not listen to what I wanted. Jared is the total opposite. He listens to what the client's needs and wants are. Also he will let his client know if he/she is being unreasonable with a family law case. He tells it like it is and does not try to sell you a "pipe dream". Ultimately Jared is really for "the best interest of the child". His years of experience really shows in the court room as well as negotiations with opposing attorney's. I can not say enough great things about this man. He is a man of integrity and ultimately cares about you and your family.

Geist is a weak and unethical attorney and it seems that this weakness led him astray to support persons of extremely poor character. His judgment as a lawyer is questionable because from what I have seen he is willing to falsify narratives and make conclusions without supportive testimony or proof. In short someone who has such poor ethics and legal judgment is more likely to screw you than help you. Run away there are plenty of decent moral attorneys to retain.
