I have had the opportunity to know the work of the clinical staff at Catholic Charities and the positive impact they are having on people's lives. I can say that they do a great job often with very complex cases and limited resources.

I am deeply disappointed and troubled by the care and treatment I received at Catholic Charities of East Brunswick, NJ. From the summer of 2022 to the Fall of 2023, I was a patient seeking mental health treatment, but my experience left much to be desired. During my time with Catholic Charities, my therapist, and the psychiatrist, on staff, made significant decisions regarding my treatment without adequate consideration for my well-being. In the fall of 2023, the psychiatrist at Catholic Charities East Brunswick changed my prescribed medication, which resulted in severe adverse side effects that left me bed-bound for weeks. Despite the clear connection between the medication change and my deteriorating health, I was discharged from their care without proper follow-up or support. Attempts to resume communication and seek further care have been met with silence, leaving me feeling abandoned and without the necessary support to manage my mental health. As someone seeking help for mental health issues, I expected compassionate and competent care from qualified professionals, but my experience with Catholic Charities fell far short of that standard. I urge others to carefully consider their options before seeking treatment at this facility.
