Our family has spent many years attending the Nevada Legislature. We routinely go to promote Veterans' issues.  The current home of the Nevada Legislature, "The People's Branch of Government," was built in 1971.  It's a nice building that showcases well the history of the Nevada Legislature.   The building is very disabled-friendly and compliant with ADA from its parking, to ramps, to bathrooms, to Service Animal, and to emergency alarms.   We prefer to go between Sessions because it is then the members of the Legislature are also involved in committee work between sessions. "Members are assigned to various permanent and interim study committees to investigate a wide range of issues and make recommendations to the next session of the Legislature. These committees hold public hearings, direct research, and deliberate on proposed legislation for the next session of the Legislature"  Lately we have been promoting that Nevada join thirteen other States, which is Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and South Carolina in changing Nevada law so that 100% service-connected disabled Veterans have property tax bills that are zero.  To find out who your State Legislators are, and to support Nevada's Veterans, because supporting Veterans starts with you, go to this site at mapserve1.leg.state.nv.u…

Friendly staff around the capital who are interested in answering your questions and showing you around. You can feel the importance of the place in each chamber, and I hear it's real entering during sittings too.

Here for a meeting in Public Records. They have some of them most comfortable spectator seats of any venue for good reason. The building is super clean and has a lot of interesting history on the walls that shouldn't be missed.
