This company has proved itself to be not only incapable of listening to a clients needs/ concerns, but also to charge more than double what other CPA's have quoted for similar services. My former CPA took a job with a firm that would no longer allow her to service her customers that she was handling on her own time, so I had to find a new firm. My former CPA walked me thru the more complicated aspects of my taxes (I am a sales rep that has an office in home and used my vehicle to travel extensively for work, so it is not a simple 1040ez filing). My wife (we were newly married at the time) had used U & U for 10+ years and was happy with them. I went in to give them our info and go over my previous years (I brought 2 previous years with me to this meeting). First strike: They have non tax preparers collect the w-2s and info, and take any notes on your changes or concerns. These notes were never seen or referenced again. They called back after a few weeks and I went in to collect them, but I knew from the refund amounts that something was WAY off. They had completely omitted 2 deductions and told me that I was wrong about writing off my mileage deduction. I tried to discuss this with the new person that I was talking to, but she had NO IDEA about anything she was talking about. She quickly disappeared to bring back an actual CPA who also told me I was wrong until I pulled up the IRS's website and showed her the process. They took back the returns to redo them, and called back in a week. This time they had screwed up the mileage again, and again I had to retrain the CPA how to do her job. I got them back the third time and went to pay for them, and it was 4 times more than my previous provider. I called around to other CPA's in the area and all were less expensive, most quoting me around half as much as we were being billed. I demanded to talk to a partner and got a call back fairly quickly. He (Steve? It was last year and I don't recall his name) told me that was the amount. I told him that I should bill him for training his staff how to deduct mileage, and he laughed and hung up. I payed the exorbitant sum and will do everything I can to keep people from making the same mistake I did. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They are incompetent, arrogant, and overpriced.
