My husband and 2 kids have been at Turnberry Place for 2 years come December. We love it. It's quiet, spacious on the inside, the grounds is maintained, maintenance is friendly and quick. I don't know why people say the walls are thin because we never hear our neighbors. We have never had our cars messed with either. We love our home and don't plan on moving out any time soon.

Be careful moving in this gated community that leaves their gates open all night. My FIRST night here my car got broken into and parts stolen. The staff couldn't care less. No cameras or anything to protect their residents. With the amount you pay living here you would think they would have some sort of security.

I've lived here nearly 3 years now, and want to start by saying me being pushed to an honest review with 1 star has everything to do with how high the rent is for how low quality the apartments themselves are, and that has *nothing* to do with the staff.
Every maintenance worker has gone out of their way to fix any emergency day-of, no matter the holiday - when a pipe burst on Christmas, it was shut off within a couple hours, and fixed within the week. The office staff are always friendly and helpful, never a bad experience there. Joy has been an excellent manager and everyone has gone way out of their way to make life as comfortable and peaceful as possible. They're the best staff I've ever had as a tenant, hands down.
But you sort of have to have great staff to keep people living in a pricey, remote place with such serious disrepair. In my first week, the closet light cover fell and shattered over my back. I wasn't hurt, but it was heavy glass, and if it'd hit my head? That would've been a different story. Shrugged it off as an unlucky accident, but now I'm pretty sure everything is just broken by default.
Across the years, I've had pipes burst (on carpet, ew), most of my outlets stop working (they still don't), the garbage disposal stop working, the dishwasher is old as sin and doesn't clean anything (same with the drier - takes 2-3 cycles every time), the garage door break (it's still broken, even after being fixed for a bit), siding fall off, the stairs break, my screen door doesn't close all the way (has a gap) and lets all kinds of critters in if I leave it open for any amount of time (same with the windows), and don't get me started on the time an entire tree outside uprooted and my house got infested with termites. *Dozens* of them on my ceiling, just chilling, like they're paying the $1,200+ rent, too.
We put in requests to fix what we can when we can, but you pretty much need maintenance round the clock to keep the place livable. Just now, my microwave cover launched off and smacked me in the face when I closed the door. I didn't slam it - it just decided to stop being attached to the microwave because it's ancient. I've never had an apartment this breakable, and I've lived in some serious roach motels.
Stuff like that really makes it hard to forget the fire from back in like 2020 that took out an entire row of apartments. Not hard to imagine that happening again.
Also, hope you like spiders, because there's no getting rid of them. You sort of just have to accept that you'll average 4-5 large spiders a week showing up in plain sight - sometimes a day, depending on the weather. House spiders, brown recluses, and woodlouse spiders are the most common species - I've seen more woodlouse spiders here than I saw living out in the country. I don't feel comfortable relaxing on my own furniture or floor because of how often large spiders crawl on me. They love getting stuck in all the light fixtures, too - even after having them cleaned, they just fill right back up with dead, roasting spider corpses within a month. My kitchen light feels like a free spider cremation service - really redefining "slow burn".
I'm used to a certain degree of wildlife invading my space, that comes with living in Missouri period. But this is a weird amount, even then.
The amenities are pretty nice. Pool is awesome and well kept, but overcrowded all the time because there's only one for such a large populous. Free coffee every day at the clubhouse is cool, 24/7 gym is amazing, landscaping is gorgeous, and the other tenants are usually pretty chill - never had a package stolen off my doorstep, not once. The staff host all sorts of cool activities at the clubhouse, too.
If rent was $800? 5 stars, easy. But for this price, these many problems, and in such an out of the way/unwalkable location? Can't recommend it tbh.
