Hampton Inn & Suites St. Louis/South I-55

Amazing good customer service. Typically, you would notice front desk to be good at customer service (which they were!) but I also interacted with housekeeping staff, the breakfast staff, and more. And they all are extremely professional and courteous. It makes the stay so much more enjoyable. The only reason I took star off was during check in, it wasn't mentioned about remodeling happening next door to us. We were in 2nd floor and whole floor smelled like paint and faint construction dust. Overall, very good experience and would gladly recommend it to anyone needing to stay in the area.

This place is starting to go downhill. The physical space is yet okay, but the quality of the new staff we encountered is severely diminished! We did an automatic check-in with a digital key. We usually received a warm welcome when arriving. Though we did not have to stop at the front desk, we were disappointed that the girl at the desk barely looked up from her cell phone when we entered. Later that evening, I went to get ice, but the machine on our floor was out of service. I went to the first floor searching for another machine; not seeing one, I stopped at the front desk. An older woman stood there with a downward gaze as if she was writing. When I said, Excuse me; she didn't answer. When I said it the second time, she replied, Yes? - without even looking up. When I asked where was the ice machine? She raised her head and I saw her agitated expression; she pointed saying, Down there; and immediately started back with her writing. Never a smile. Never an acknowledgement or a, Have a good evening. Nothing! It seemed I was an intruder.

Outdated rooms, poor front office staff, outlets not working, out of service elevator, and amenities such as an iron not in the room. Very crowded in spaces like the cafe. We will not be staying here again.

Very helpful registration staff!! Noteworthy details: Easy on and off hwy. Location is well lit, and felt safe. No hotel restaurant but several fast food locations very near by.
