In the heart of downtown STL, a couple of minutes from the Arch, with lots if great places to eat neat by, also nice amenities with indoor parking, & the assistant manager Katie is a huge plus to the property

I must say living at The Laurel Apartments Is one of the better locations downtown. Inside the building is another story from management, making their own rules going against what the lease states to having a running joke in office about tenants not having hot water for months Ive attached pictures so you can see the subject line states HOT SHOWERS FOR EVERYONE! Some people receive gift cards for the inconvenience other people did not, no one got any compensation for rent. I had an issue in my apartment and I asked to switch units which states we can in our lease I had a french fry paper catch on fire in my microwave also, I had a shortage in my light and I kept having static electricity with everything I touched, even if I touched my dog . I had to demand that an electrician come to my unit and was denied being able to switch units they made up some excuse, I am still dealing with issues in my apartment My kitchen hot water has not been fixed. Still takes over 10 minutes for it to get hot so I keep pot on my stove so I can boil water, to hurry up the process so I can have hot water to wash my dishes. I noticed the units I was looking at they rented two out of three them so one is still on the market till this day, but they raised the price it. There are some racial issues going on as well if I reach out to management, they will have leasing consultant to call me or email me and it looks like since were the same race thats acceptable to them for her to deal with me instead of one of the managers Other issues in the building the floors are horrible. They will not put new carpet down on the whole floor only in front of the elevators ,but not the entire floor. They sent an email stating how the office is getting new flooring, they will not paint where they had the walls open at when the pipes burst and this is what we have to walk by every day and not to mention when you have company your guests are looking at the horrible conditions. When you are in the parking garage, you are looking at trash overflowing in a trashcan theres a hole in the wall, foot prints on the wall and its dirty they will not even power wash the garage will not change the lighting in the garage, but people were paying a minimum of $145 and up for parking. They treat this building as a business. This is where people live. The office should be the last priority of getting anything when the building is in horrible conditions. Ive been told that management walk the building daily , I cant believe this to be true and if so they do not care. Dog park is always dirty have to call the office about there is a large window that they can look out and see it. I have enclosed pictures for viewing If anything else comes to mind, I will put out another review

I liked living here. I moved to be closer to family, but I would have happily renewed my lease if that wasnt the case. The apartment building was kept clean, the maintenance team was responsive, and management clearly worked to add value to living here from get togethers and events. The courtyard and gym areas were really well maintained and kept up to date. Everything just felt upscale without being too stuffy or too trendy. Security was not an issue. I lived alone, and I got locked out of my apartment and even the third party locksmith that I called couldnt get in. Maintenance worked with me and I was able to get back in with no issues. Management will also increase security if there is an influx of people at the Dome which is nice. During my lease, there were issues with the water being off for a few days. Even if it was unavoidable, management was very communicative and worked with the nearby hotel to help us with other accommodations if we needed it. The only complaint I have is there there were recurring issues with the elevators my entire lease and the parking garage is a tight fit. If youre driving anything larger than a compact SUV, its going to be a tough time. The third party that manages the garage is really helpful in finding a spot that works for your car. There are also other parking garages close by.
