An awesome old farm full of history! Cabin farm house you can see in the wall and floor and see how the house was constructed in those times. Check out their special events schedule. Very historic and enjoyable.

Made a special trip up here all the way from Baldwin City kansas. I arrived at 3:45 p.m. and the door was already locked. A young lady and an older woman simply said that they're closed. I said it's 15 minutes until you're closing and they said they weren't making any exceptions. The older woman stated that they had issues and concerns with safety and they were closing at 4:00 p.m. with no exceptions. Very rude. She even said that she was not going to argue with me. Which at this point I wasn't even arguing I just simply stated that I had drove a long way to see the museum. The young lady just simply said sorry and walked off. The funny part is is I mainly just wanted to walk the grounds and I could have simply just walked through the house quickly without a guide or verbal tour. If you have issues with safety, then maybe you shouldn't be open at all? If you're posted hours are 11 to 4:00 p.m. then you need to stay open till 4:00 p.m. otherwise change your hours. Or find a staff that is willing to stay until you close.
