Ive tried calling them several times about a car loan they just mailed to me! They didnt bother telling me when the due date was and where and how to pay until two days BEFORE the late fee! I called yesterday and was told to just go up there!! But when I did they closed down early! They closed 3 hours BEFORE they closed officially! When I tried to speak to someone hire up they ignored me and instead closed down early again! Unbelievable. If the owner or a manager is reading this please leave your number so I can get this mess sorted out. Worst bank Ive ever had to deal with.

My mother and I went to this bank on Saturday, February 17, 2024 around 9:30 to take care of a CD and the customer service was abhorrent. This woman was rude to my mother and called her a liar and kept arguing with her. Then she shouted for us to get out of her office that she was NOT going to help us because we were disrespecting her!!! She did nothing but disrespected my mother! She has no business in customer service. She kept insisting on she had talked to my mom and my mom kept telling her no I did not talk to you! She told us that only "John" could help us and when I told her I was in town to help my mom take care of stuff as I do not live there. She did not care! She had no intention of helping my mom with HER money. After she started yelling at us to get out- another colleague came rushing into the office and asked what was going on and I told him that this girl is calling my mom a liar! So he asked us to follow him and he would take care of us-which he did. It also meant we were lied to by the first rep saying that no one could help us. So if she was lying about this she was lying about talking to my mom-it is a lack of character. Do NOT use this bank!!! Take your money and RUN to the nearest exit!! My mom has been with them a long time-20+ and this is how they treat a long-time customer and by someone they called rookie of the year-who voted for this girl?? It is laughable if it weren't so sad. The other sad thing about this is nothing will get fixed or changed. According to all the reviews all over the country this bank overall has a rating of 1 star for customer service which really means they do not want to fix the problems that need to be fixed- which is teaching their people what customer service really means.Date of experience: February 17, 2024

I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. 1st issue about 3 months ago I needed a notary for paper work. i went to my Bank (BMO)I signed the paper and then the Manager said i needed witnesses. there were other employees in the office doing nothing however she told me that BMO did not allow employees to be witnesses. it would have been nice if she would have stated this in the beginning as she clearly knew i was alone. 2nd issue when i finally ran around to other businesses by the bank i was able to find someone that was willing to come over to the bank with me and be a witness. I Next Day Aired the Doc to another state and long and behold i was informed the Docs needed 2 witnesses and not the 1 the BMO Manager told me i needed. i spent over $30.00 to ship. needless to say they had to resend me the docs to start over from scratch. another $30.00 to Next Day Air. Now my 3rd issue with BMO is that i went to deposit a check into my account that was made out to my Dad. i have full Durable Power of Attorney that the bank has had copies of for years now on file. This new lady Manager insisted i had to open an account in his name in order to deposit it. i could not use my POA and deposit into my account. in the past 8 years I have, on 4 occasions deposit checks in my Dads name using my POA with no issues from any other Bank Manager into my account. This Manager has informed me they were all not following the rules. So over the past 8 years BMO, she is the only Manager you have had at the Independence location that is able to follow the rules. That should scare you...Your Managers are in charge of a lot of money. iI went online to legal sites and proposed this question and all the answers are the same. if you have Durable Power of Attorney you can deposit that persons check into your own account. As I stated above the Manager at this location is either the only one that knows how banking works or is very uninformed. 4th issue- when I went on to say that my Dad is very ill and in lives in another state she stopped me to say " she didn't need me to tell her all that". I tried to tell her I manage this property of his that is located in Missouri and have never had any issues depositing these checks into my account. I also said she could go into my account and see the checks that were deposited to my bank from the same business for years. There are direct deposits from this business with my Dads name going into my account. . They did this because they also have the POA on file at their business. just a side note these are all house insurance checks from claims and the monies for repairs. It just happens that this particular money can only be by check and not direct deposited. Bottom line She would not look into any of this, why because every one else at BMO is doing it wrong when putting these funds into my account. BMO, is this how you want to present your business? All the years I have been with BMO Harris i had great relationships with all the banking folks. Since it moved to its new location and acquired this new Manager I can't stand it.. Here is the info i found on line regarding banks supplying witnesses "Free Notary Public Most large banks offer free Notary Public services to their clients, including Chase Bank, Bank of America, BMO Harris Bank, Wells Fargo, and many others. If you need to get a document notarized, simply visit your local bank branch and talk to the branch manager or other customer representative, and youll usually find that they offer this service for free. If you need additional witnesses for the signing of your documents, other bank employees are usually available for this purpose, so you can easily If this is Banking made easy, I would hate to see it made hard...
