The Dock Stillwater

Wandered in for lunch on a sunny Tuesday in April, and were delighted! We chose a table facing the beautiful StCroix River. Service was prompt and friendly. BLT sandwich was delicious, loaded with flavor! Garden salad was fresh and large, with lots of crunchy veggies. Bartender was eager to help us expand our beer tasting experience (our fav was Salty Crew). River front location with light oak and big windows. Located adjacent to the Browns Creek State bike trail in Historic Stillwater downtown. Parking: Lots of dedicated parking adjacent, and restaurant is on the bike trail so if adjacent lot is full it's an easy walk to several other lots.

With such a beautiful location its a shame the food is terrible and its understaffed. It took our nice server forever to get drinks from the bar because the bar was backed up. The restaurant wasnt full. Our food came and it was so bad! The whiskey salmon was fishy and over cooked. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich. He said there was a weird goo under the breading. The fries were undercooked like the kind you would get served in elementary. Were locals and we really had high hopes after not going there for several years. Its a beautiful spot. We hate leaving disappointed, so if youre visiting from out of town check out one of the awesome restaurants on Main Street and check out the river afterwards. The food at Docks cafe is not worth the view.

Great location and views of the river! The food and service was fantastic. We especially loved the walleye and the chicken wild rice soup. The interior is a bit outdated. If they could turn the fireplaces on it would add ambiance to the room. Also some nice music would enhance the dining experience. Overall, great visit. We will be back to check out the outdoor seating.

Great scenery, friendly staff and great food!. Only wished the blackberry turkey sandwich had more jam on it!!

We ended up at the dock Stillwater due to longer than expected wait times elsewhere and we were pleasantly surprised! We were treated with top notch customer service and amazing food. It is right on the river so in the summer Im sure the view is great. We got the New York strip and the whiskey salmon which were delicious. We will be back!
