Unfriendly staff, sheets had rips, mold in the bathroom, unsafe food handing in the breakfast area. General maintenance not being done. Front desk personnel is not there all the time, so big security issue. No one is watching who is coming and going. This hotel is not a great place to stay.

If you are here to do group activities DO NOT STAY at this hotel. There are no accommodations for a group or team to "hang out." If you set in their lobby make sure to whisper or the young employee's will begin a power trip, yet have nothing to say when you ask what the problem is. They claim they need a quiet hotel around 9pm, yet do not monitor the 2 floors or the slamming of doors on the opposite end of their lobby that were constant from midnight to 2am??!! While they offer their pool area for group items, they also list no food or drinks in the area or you will be fined. We asked to use their breakfast area, and were left with no, its policy? Then claim no other hotles in Detroit Lakes allow this....uhhh there are 12 hockey teams here, this weekend and this is the second hotel we are hearing numerous negative feedback on....so if your coming to DL...we recommend not here. Since management would like to state the cops were called I will add that yes they were called, but when they arrived they went to a random room-- not ours. As again NUMEROUS HOCKEY groups were at this hotel. The cops had a WONDERFUL conversation with that person and stated that the call was made, so they had to show up. When asked WHY they stopped at that particular room, the cop stated you have your door propped open so we could hear people, so we knocked to speak to you. The cop stated they were not loud, but had to come. They were very polite, 5 stars to the cops!! As for the POOL, none of our group used the pool, but again these "managers" were not asking what group was with whom ...they just wanted their antics to be taken with no questions asked. Again POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. As far as cursing, I did not. When confronted on why they did not stop any of the LOUD antics happening all over their hotel, it was a bold face lie from this manager. Also many did visit other hotels while there to hang out with other hockey families... and shocking they were loud, they were gathered eating food, and drinking adult beverages and or water or soda and NONE OF THOSE agencies had problems. And no it wasnt the Quality Inn as you kept throwing in a parents face as an excuse, it was hotels all over. Your response shows your lack of customer service. Oh and my room was left with the dirty towels on the bathroom floor so they would get picked up and washed prior to being left in the room again, as I stated when asking for new towels. All the trash was put in the bin and the pizza boxes were left right by the small trash container as when looking for an employee to throw that in a larger bin, no one was available. But again Customer Service seems to not be able to handle that they did not ask what group people were with, or whom the specific individual was you had the problem with. Also my family doesn't drink coffee, so we are not a part of your coffee bar, did not know you had one, but will say we did enjoy a cup of cranberry juice and orange juice for breakfast and dry cereal. Rooms were clean, but smell musty....thank goodness we travel with a diffuser. Breakfast had okay options, but tables, silverware and dishes were dirty. They did not refill many items either. Definitely recommend other accommodations. Rooms: They are okay, but if you request more towles make sure you are ready for the interrogation on why you need them....customer service is lacking here.
