Garry M. Banks, MD

I had back surgery about 15 years ago or so and Dr Banks did the surgery he took care of the problem and I've been doing really good all these years. Having the same problem again and hoping Dr Banks can fix it again. I totally trust him and not sure what I would have done if he would be retired or moved away.

Dr. Banks is one of the most arrogant, self righteous people ive ever come in contact with. Ive had 17 spinal surgeries, and he knows my condition. He refused to answer any questions, didnt ask if i had any questions, and refused to help me with even so much as a muscle relaxer. Even when hospitalized, and the MRI and CT scans both came back showing I had multiple herniated discs and a vertebrae fracture, he refused to help me and told me "he doesn't treat chronic pain" which, oddly enough, he had previously done 3 of my surgeries. I highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND you look elsewhere for a doctor and surgeon that is less full of himself, and willing to listen to questions and concerns you may have about your condition.

I had a similar experience to Juliana Smith's. I have been a nurse for many years and have worked around some good doctors and some with horrible bedside manners. I thought I had already seen the worst but I was wrong. The first thing he did when he entered the room was to comment that I have seen a lot of providers and had a lot of surgery through his office. Over 30years! Every one of them was necessary . I certainly don't enjoy having surgery. What I do enjoy is the ability to be active and participate in sports that I enjoy and to be a caregiver to my patients in the ER and to my disabled son. I couldn't do CPR in this condition if I wanted to. I had imaging that showed non-union of a cervical spine fusion, and he confirmed it with bent neck x-rays. I told him I was in severe pain and could barely move my arms away from my body , yet he told me that he wouldn't do anything about it and to wait until it got worse. The message that came across to me was to go somewhere else. Apparently it was his opinion that I've maxed out on my services through TCO.

Dr.Banks had done many surgeries on my husband,Paul, and he has always had compassion for all the surgeries Paul has had to endure. He was always compassionate, and kind. Paul trusts him and knows he will do a great job again. He is a great doctor. Paul and Mary Barthel

Ive had 7 surgeries (3 with TCO) and just had a new consult with Garry Banks. Ive seen some poor bedside manner with providers but wow, his was awful! He was invalidating, uninformed, and outdated. He stared at me like I had a third arm because Im a young patient, and he made that apparent in the way he spoke to me by side eyeing me and saying, you sure have a lot of problems for a 30 year old... (yeah thats why I was there? Its not happy fun time here man.) He offered no explanation, no answers, and no suggestions aside from return to my referring provider. I will be getting an opinion from someone who isnt rude and takes time to explain whats going on and what theyre doing. Horrible. Would NEVER recommend him. TCO is fine, he is not.
