Just had a friend ask about dentists in Greater Lansing and I figured I'd put the same story here! Dr. Greg absolutely saved me from needing a root canal. I came to him over a decade ago and it had been about 18 months between seeing him and my last dentist's appointment (Being unemployed was fun). I had some pain, Dr. Brya took some extra time to explain my options and teach me enough to make a good decision. He explained the "easy way" - a root canal - and a "harder way" that would require him to operate within a VERY narrow margin and me to take additional actions and safeguards afterward, but would preserve my tooth and not be as invasive in the long run. At the time it was a 'new' treatment, now it's more common. We went with plan B, I didn't need my roots drilled, followed his advice to the letter, and my tooth was completely saved.
I'm a very visual person, Dr. Brya has the ability to take in-mouth photographs and can explain exactly what he's seeing and how it's impacting you. This helped me make the decision to take the slightly riskier approach because he explained his exact plan with how he would drill, where the problem areas were, and his plan to address them. I guess dentistry isn't all drill and hope, there's a very specific method and he showed me just how close he could keep that margin.
Every time I came to the office, I learned more about how a great dentist is important to a person's overall health. He took his time to share his extensive knowledge, and I'm forever thankful for it. When I moved 100 miles away, I still made that trip for about 2 years before Covid kept me planted. Dr. Brya recommended a great dentist for me in the Detroit area.
When I joined my new dentist's office, Dr. Brya's team very quickly sent over all of my detailed records and my new dentist asked if I'd been to dental school because of the kinds of questions I was asking him.
