There were bed bugs. Staff tried their best to help and let us use their dryer. But it was a horrible experience

I recently had a stay in the "executive" suite. First, the hotel is undergoing a renovation. I arrived to a dirty parking lot with lots of cracked and broken asphalt. The entry canopy looked like a poorly built temporary structure. The first entry door was broken and blocked open. The lobby and breakfast area look nice, but really need a deep cleaning. I checked in quickly without issues. The "executive" suite is on the 3rd floor. Inside the elevator the flooring is badly worn and the floor panels are broken along the edges. Opening the door to the "executive" suite I was greeted by the strong smell of fresh paint (which I don't mind). The closet had nothing in it, no bar to hang clothes on...nothing at all. The room was in my opinion NOT ready to be rented out. There was dust everywhere. Piles of drywall dust along the edges of the walls. Wall outlets and switch plates mismatched with overpainting on them. Exposed screws to hold the mini-closet fridge microwave wall unit together. The couch was old, worn and covered in dust. Fire sprinkler covers loose covering the sprinkler head. My room was recently "renovated". The renovation looked like it was done by amateurs. Crooked wallpaper, incorrectly cut with bare wall showing around and underneath outlets and switch plates. The shower glass was filthy and covered with stickers. Drywall patching and spackling done poorly with minimal sanding. You could see every patch and spackle under the wallpaper. The 32" TV from 2008 had a filthy screen with scratches. This room exhibited a lack of detail and low standards in both renovation and cleaning. My best quick summary: "Lipstick on a pig". I've had stays at many hotels over the years. I have no problem with "old" furniture and facilities as long as they are maintained and in good, clean order. This is not up to standard. Go elsewhere. Rooms: Size is typical. Cleanliness and attention to detail are poor. Safety: Property is surrounded by newer hotels but for some reason this property looks sketchy with an abandoned building out front. It's like an island of ghetto. Walkability: You will need a car to go to a restaurant unless you like Red Lobster.

A few days ago I stayed in the executive sweet and when I tell you it was the worst experience I have ever had I mean it. The first thing i seen as walking into the lobby was a homeless tweaker and it made me very uncomfortable. And prices are insanely high for the nasty outdated rooms they had that looked like they were from the early 70s. I went to lift up the sheets as soon as I got in my room on the mattress and low and behold there was a huge cockroach. The next morning i went into the bathroom to take a shower and a seen a rat scurry out from a hole in the wall behind the toilet and when i called the front desk to ask somebody to come check it out they said they couldnt because they were to busy and when i called about the kids running throughout the halls ALL night they said they would tell them to go to there room and they never did any thing and i got little to no sleep at all and the busy roads all around the building did NOT help what so ever.
