Citizens Insurance (The Hanover Insurance Group)

I had and auto accident on the way to work the Friday before Christmas. I had the tow company drop me off at work, and delayed dealing with the auto and tow yard until after work. I forgot some of the documentation they had requested, and had to take time out for that over the holiday. Still, they managed to process everything and got me set for a new car and reimbursement from the insurance company in a timely fashion. They did a great job and I will continue to use their services well into the future.

I have had experience with both claims and updates to my policies. (home owners and auto). The response following my home owners claim was immediate and very professional. Needed to update my home owners policy and that was completed in 2 days. I would highly recommend Citizens Insurance. I have been insured with other companies and the support does not compare!

Had Citizens 3 years, rates kept going up & up. Bought a newer car and that was the straw that broke the fixed incomers back. Called and tried to lower my rate, but was given all types of excuses, from, "that car," a Toyota Corolla, "is the top stolen car in the country," to "EVERYBODY has to pay the cost of EV repairs cause their expensive." Had AAA in the past and they requoted me Auto/Home/Travel Trailer/Umbrella @ $151.00 cheaper EACH MONTH. When I did cancel, very soon after, the refund came in the NEW INSURANCE MATH. Still do not see how they came up with the amount they did, but, Shelby at Michigan Community Insurance Agency states , " according to Citizens, your check is the correct amount? Beat me up and if I were you , I'd steer clear of Citizens.

Dont use The Hanover Insurance Group!! My story below I called for roadside assistance on 4/2/24 at 6:30pm after my truck would not start. I was hung up on 3 times and placed on hold for 2 hours total during the whole process. We ended up calling AAA instead as my father-in-law had unlimited towing. I had my wife and 3 young children who are 3yo, 5yo and 10yo, we live in MIchigan, and it was very cold last night. We ended up getting home at 12:30am towed by AAA. This is the 2nd time we have called for roadside assistance with similar results. The customer rep that takes the calls is extremely rude and has no sense of urgency. Any other insurance company would be a better choice. Citizens has proven they simply DO NOT CARE. This requires immediate attention and a course of action needs to be taken on whoever was answering the calls yesterday at that time. I will be speaking with our agent today and we will be getting some sort of refund or credit as we are paying for services that are basically useless. If not, I will be putting this story on every social platform I can find as I do not take putting my family in harm's way lightly!
