Had a creepy encounter with a man that worked there. He kept trying to stand really close when talking to me and rubbed up against me. I told him I didn't need any help a few times. He kept leering at me. He was knowledgeable but he smelled slightly of alcohol and looked messy. It was just odd. Probably wouldn't go back if he was there. Everyone else is really friendly, just got wierd vibes from him .

Chris is the best pool person to go to. Never steered us wrong on what needs to be done to our pool.

They use a contracted company to do pool setups and closedowns now, not their own people. It was a much worse experience having them close the pool down vs having it set up, they left hoses attached to pumps and filters and crudely duct taped the connections that were left open. For some reason they dumped all the sand out of our filter, just made a huge mess under the deck with green crystalline sand, and we have dogs who run around out back so it made the yard feel less safe. We called them to complain and they knocked 25% off their fee and said they knew it was an issue, but i feel like replacing all that sand and possibly other parts that were left connected to hoses all winter might end up costing us more in the long run. The store is fine enough but we use our own independent contractor and his pool team for our onsite pool care needs now, we dont trust the guys Zagers hires out to at all.

We sincerely apologize for the experience you had. We do employ our own pool opening and closing crews. In times of extreme customer demand, we have on rare occasion had a subcontractor assist for a very limited time. Any customer service issues that arise for any services that we complete or subcontract are promptly handled. Our Zagers technicians are trained professionals and only use the proper fittings and attachments for pool plumbing. The sand that is out of your filter is silica sand and is made up of a mineral quartz. It is eco-friendly, chemical free and naturally derived. It is extremely common for our customers to request us to dump sand under their deck and apologize that this did not meet your expectation. If by “pool setup” you are referring to your initial above ground pool installation, you are correct that we refer our customers to a subcontractor, but they are also free to choose whomever they’d like to install their pool. This is common practice for pool companies in West Michigan. We do hope that you will give us another try, but understand if you are happy with a new company. We just want you to enjoy your pool to the fullest.
