WARNING!! CAUTION!!! They will STEAL your money. They promised me around $800 refund in a verbal contract months ago, told me that it would 5-8 weeks to come in... IT NEVER CAME. Then after countless emails and calls they told me that my profile had been deleted. Corporate number they gave me to call never works. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE. The rooms are NOT what they show you in the tour, I'm talking ripped couches, stained toilet seats and smoke stains and smells. Please be careful.

Company that owns the property is awful, there are no managers to speak to, only residents working in the office. Services are always delayed, for example someone puked in the stairwell and we were told it would be days before someone would clean it up. Rent is way too high for what is offered.

25 East appears to be a decent option for an affordable apartment but it is probably the worst in the area. The best part about living here was that Jack is very helpful (more so than any of the managers) but his employment there does not make up for how terrible the rest is. My first unit smelt terrible and they placed a 50 year old smoker in with 3 college kids who all requested a smoker free unit in our application. Additionally the dryer machine never worked and it took 4 maintenance requests over the span of a month before it was finally fixed. While that may seem bad, later in the year the 50 year old threatened to shoot my roommate so we had to flee to our respective partners homes. After this incident it took 3 weeks, and phone calls every other day, for the managers to provide my roommate and I with a new unit. Despite their alleged background check 25 East fails to make smart decisions and lets violent criminals live with anyone, without warning the other tenants. The new unit had terrible paint fumes and we had to open the windows for an entire week in the winter for the smell to go away. I have moved out as of January and found a subleaser who wants the unit but once again the management lollygags at every opportunity and has failed to provide me with the 'relet fee' (while I did all of the work finding a new tenant) weeks after informing them. At the end of the day 25 East is fairly priced and not a bad place to live but is dragged down so heavily by the management that it is a surprise corporate hasn't fired them, unless this is corporates standard. The best thing you can do if you are thinking about renting from 25 east is to take your money and run in any other direction because this company will nickle and dime you for everything they can.

I would not recommend living at 25 east apartments. First Impression: When we showed up at the assigned time to move in, the leasing office was closed. No one showed up for at least 30 minutes. The person I subleased from was more helpful than the office themselves, and continually contacted them so I could even move in in the first place. The cleaning team showed up the day after we moved in, and seemed surprised that we were there. Infestation: Throughout the period of my lease, there was an infestation of stinkbugs which was never dealt with. Roommate: My roommate was deemed a "permanent house guest" in the lease and was rarely allowed to pick up their packages. The main door to the building was broken the entire time we were there, which led to my roommate being locked outside and freezing after a medical emergency in the middle of the night. Neighbors: The walls are incredibly thin- our neighbors were not a happy couple, to say the very least. Speaking of them, they treated the main hallway as their personal mudroom and had a shoerack and air freshener by their door. The entire hallway stank of feet. There was also a dog owner who would refuse to have their animal on a leash, which resulted in several incidents that the leasing office did not address after repeated complaints. There was also a neighbor that was neglecting their dog, leaving it out on the balcony to muck about in its own waste. The only reason this review has 2 stars and not 1 is because of the incredible maintenance team that was there during my lease. They were very helpful and responsive, though they never did fix the main door lock which is a shame.
