Ive been a resident going on 3 years now. Im really curious what new management will improve. Upon moving in I was told my apartment would be fully renovated after I had already paid my security deposit and first months rent. Upon moving in the bathroom is outdated with the same green tile floor from the 30s and the wall tile is painted over. The painted over tile is chipping, the bathtub is peeling and chipping, there are major gashes in the tiles. A plumber broke my shower towel bar. The plumber came because my bathroom ceiling was molding and there was a major water leak so they had to cut open the ceiling to cut and replace old pipes. The hole stayed in my ceiling for over a month. After maintenance repaired the whole they never sanded and repainted the spot. My bathroom looks like a trap house. I have been requesting window screens since the very first day I moved in when I sent in my 7 day check list of all the issues I found upon moving in. There were tears in the existing screens and some windows had no screens at all, the raggedy bathroom definitely didnt have one. It sucks because when I try to open a window a billion bugs come in within 10 minutes, including those fish flies. And if you hate centipedes be prepared to have them every other day or twice a day. The buildings have moisture issues. The plumbing needs to be updated, or something is wrong with structure. My hallway closet gives off the worse sewage fumes. One day maintenance put a black plastic bag over the plumbing opening in the closet and taped it off to block the smell. God only knows whats causing the smell, and what actually needs to be fixed. The bright white lights by the water are an eye sore to look at when laying in the bed at night. I wonder how many bugs its going to attract during the summer nights when people want to hang out by the water. Beware if you have children. There are a ton of stray cats around that urinate, and poop in the so called beach sand. Its a huge liter box for them. It saddens me to see children playing in it. The cats wouldnt be such a huge problems if the neighbors would stop feeding them. The west gate is always broken. As a private, independent woman its unsafe knowing a toxic ex can pop up whenever he wants. The butterfly systems to our actual buildings havent worked in years. I hate having to get out of the shower drenching wet in my robe to have to come downstairs to let guest in. We used to could buzz the door from the app. Theres not even a buzzard in the apartment to open the main door. They put a letter on our doors today saying sorry you had no heat for 8 days but we are not compensating you for the inconvenience in so many words. Aside from that BS. I love the neighbors in my building. Were all pretty quiet for the most part. The walls are concrete but I promise you that you can hear everything in your neighbors apartment so I try to be careful with not letting my tv, music, or company get too loud. Parking on the west side is aggravating. People park on the side walks because there arent many spots. I really dont understand why its not assigned. Guest should park in the east lot because there are a ton of spots. I appreciate the view of the water, but when that gate isnt fixed and closed, everybody and they momma hangs out at our water front. The police got called one night because they were too loud. When it snows the parking lot doesnt get plowed. I sat in my car this winter and watched them put down salt, and half plowed leaving so much snow behind that it looked like it never got done. The side walk in the middle of the buildings never got shoveled. When I first moved in the power went out for many days about 4 times in one year. This year we were without hot water for almost 2 weeks. They didnt pro rate our rent, stopped answering calls, shut down the leasing office, switched over to new management, and still want rent in full by the 15th. Just dont move here. Anywhere but here.

Very displeased living here, I honestly regret signing this lease. No matter how much I email management to resolve issues...they will literally respond and DO NOTHING. HORRIBLE CRITTER PROBLEM HERE. Just straight up nasty. I've only been here since October and have asked for an exterminator and caulking to seal up this poor foundation of an apartment unit. My floors are even lifting! Only thing I like about this place is the stove. Oh and did I mention we didn't have hot water for OVER A WEEK here and have not been compensated in anyway... This place is a joke, waiting for my lease to be up. Don't move here.

Dont rent here. The windows are old, they leak heat and a/c for high bills, the utilities company they use is a 3rd party front to DTE and they tack on extra fees every month for doing nothing, maintenance is non-existent, trash on the ground never picked up, black mold grows in the bathrooms because there are no fans or ventilation, landscaping is just okay broken branches laying around for weeks, snow is never plowed in parking lot in winter time nor salted, no hot water for 8-9 days and rent not prorated, beach is littered with cigarette buts, machines in the gym are broken and no door handles on some doors like the gym creating a fire hazard, neighbors are loud noisy and just plain rude throwing things against the walls and breaking things at 1AM some mornings, also the neighbors smoke inside, ants crawl up through cracks in the walls in the spring and summer, washer and dryers prices were raised 0.25 cents for no reason, maintenance refuses to fix problems or even respond, the front gate intercom freezes frequently making it inconvenient for guests or deliveries unless the gate is wide open. Stay away from this place im waiting for my lease to be up in a few months and im gone.
