We are very disappointed with our experience with Dependable Air. Our attempts to discuss with Ryan have been left unanswered and he has disappeared on us. Ryan did not understand the very basics of our split AC system but he blindly attempted to fix it, thereby causing damage and racking up a big bill, which we naively promptly Venmoed him (per his request because he "couldnt accept credit card payments"). We ended things very amicably with Ryan (unaware how badly he misunderstood our system), promptly paid him, and are now quite disturbed that he wont return our messages to discuss his work or stand behind it. Ryan seemed like a nice guy and was initially very responsive, however he lacked the expertise to fix our 2018 split AC system in our condo. We understand that there is no guarantee that a fix" will actually work but Ryan did not even understand the type of system we have and now will not return our calls. Ryan thought our system was a self contained unit because he never found the evaporator. He explained to us that he assumed the refrigerant was low and that one of the fittings probably had a leak, but he did not want to fix the two fittings he found because he assumed there were other fittings he couldnt get to that may be leaking. He suggested the fittings may be in the ceilings, in the walls, or in the attic our condo unit has other units above it so this didn't make sense. We have since learned that there are only 4 fittings on a split system, all of which are easily accessible (the remaining two fittings were with the evaporator which, again, Ryan never found in our 900 sq ft condo). Ryan saw we had a Nest thermostat and passed the buck, suggesting we bring in his electrician to rewire the Nest. There was no problem with the Nest wiring. Ryan told us that a reversing valve wasnt working when our Nest switched modes from heat to cool he even pointed to a particular pipe that he decided should go from hot to cold however our system doesn't have a reversing valve that would only be applicable to a heat pump, which we dont have. He advised us not to run the heat but when questioned on it, he couldnt explain why. At my wits end I contacted the builder of the condo building to ask if it was safe to run the heat. The builder explained to me that the heat and hot water work together and are completely separate from the AC. The two systems work entirely independently. The builder could not understand why anyone working on the AC would advise us not to run heat. Ryan was willing to add refrigerant to the system, although he doesnt know how much he added. Since he didnt know where the evaporator was he couldnt watch the delta-T (drop in temp as air crosses evaporator) and he blindly added refrigerant, which overcharged the system thereby overworking the compressor. At several points while he was adding refrigerant huge black clouds of smoke appeared and floated off into the sky. Ryan seemed very stressed after this. Feeling like things had not been fixed, we brought in another HVAC company for a second opinion and had a vastly different experience the other company understood the system and could explain it to us, inspired confidence, found that a piston was missing (said they had seen it dozens of times), and determined there was no leak at any of the 4 fittings. The other company quickly got the system to the right pressures, had bluetooth temp sensors on the inlet air and outlet air (again, Ryan never found the evaporator so he couldnt do this) and adjusted pressures while watching the system respond none of which Ryan did. The other HVAC company said that the system had been significantly overcharged by Ryan thereby overworking the compressor. While we were initially very appreciative of Ryans responsiveness and immediate availability, he has since disappeared and will not return our messages to discuss. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss what went wrong with Ryan and we have asked him to refund our payment, to which we have received no response.

I highly recommend Dependable Air Solutions!! It was the weekend and my heat wasnt working I called several different companies and left messages upon messages, and to no avail not one got back to me accept Ryan From Dependable Air Solutions! I explained what the problem was and he said that he could come by within the hour to look at it himself. 30 minutes later Ryan was at my door! He assessed the situation explained to me what it was, told me what he had to do, and how much it would be I said Ok you are hired!! Ryan said he would be back in the A.M. with the parts to fix it and he was. I definitely highly recommend Dependable Air Solutions! Ryan and his crew were at my home bright and early on Sunday Morning they were very eager to get my heat working for me which they did. Ryan was very reasonable with the price, he could of charged extra where as it was a Sunday but he didnt! Thats why i definitely would call Ryan again if need be. I would recommend his business to anyone and everyone 100%! Dependable Air Solutions is the way to go if you want the job done quickly and correctly and for the right price! Thank You Ryan
