Schoolhouse at Lower Mills

My wife has constantly harassed and faced racial discrimination from the downstairs neighbor over walking around in her apartment. The floors in the building are terrible and creek and buckle anytime you walk or shift your weight. We have a 1 year old son and the building management has asked us to keep him in his crib from 8 pm to 9:30 am. The downstairs neighbor has filed a complaint with child protective services to try and get him taken away from us. The building manager Peter does nothing to resolve any of this and just lies to you constantly. DO NOT rent in this building if you have children or if like to walk around your apartment without being harassed.

If I could give 10 stars I would!! We recently moved cross country and we absolutely LOVE The Schoolhouse!!! From our initial inquiry, application process, communication and through move in it has all been seamless! Pete the property manager is the most honest, transparent and genuinely caring human there is! Its easy to choose The Schoolhouse because of its beauty, but its the character of the staff the makes you want to call it home! Pete, Stephanie, Walter and his maintenance crew & Kathy, have all been so helpful and are true assets to this community. Our apartment is gorgeous! The large windows giving us so much natural light, the gleaming hardwood floors, the best & most efficient appliances, high ceilings and the beautiful colors of paint chosen, rather than your typical white, make you excited to come home! The gym and lounge area are so clean and lovely and the grounds are impeccably well kept!! The building is safe & secure and the neighbors we have met are so kind! We love this area! It is steps away from the trolley on the red line and the beautiful Neponset River Trail. Lower Mills is super quant and has the best restaurants, coffee shops, shops and a local library! There is a seasonal Farmers Market and it is right next door to Star Market! As a walker, it is paradise! This community is safe and very friendly! I highly recommend The Schoolhouse and we plan to call this home for a very long time!

My husband and I LOVED the Schoolhouse at Lower Mills. We started in a one bedroom unit and decided after a year to upgrade to a two bedroom unit. Both apartment were beautiful and so well maintained. We appreciated the great appliances and the beautiful floors. We had a beautiful two bedroom apartment with plenty of sun. Our only complaint was that we could use more closet space, but the building does offer storage rental in basement! We also enjoyed using the small gym. Our neighbors were always friendly. Management and staff here are amazing!! Peter and Stephanie are both kind and easy to work with. Walter and the maintenance team are also very kind and very responsive. Any issues we had were properly listened to a dealt with quickly. We also appreciated to holiday gifts every year from management. Very nice people who care about the quality of their building. The area is cute with many restaurants within walking distance. We loved walking to Flat Black Coffee for our coffee beans and grabbing tacos at Yellow Door Tacoria. There is a nice walking trail nearby if you are looking for a place to walk your dog. The building is also right next to a Star Market. This was especially convenient on snow days! I cannot say enough good things about this apartment building. For what you are paying, there is so much to offer.

We love - wait - LOVE - living at the Schoolhouse! The property is well maintained and clean. I will start with how amazingly responsive Peter and Stephanie are with all issues. They worked quickly to resolve everything, big or small, quickly and permanently. They act as if they are neighbors, living in the building, too. The maintenance crew is always helpful, kind and talented. Walter and the guys are incredible - even when called out on a weekend. Our unit is very quiet and peaceful. Our neighbors are friendly and respectful. We love being on the river and the Neponset Trail. It is a great place to walk our dog or go for a bike ride with the kids. The location can not be more convenient. Star Market is right next door. There are many great restaurants within a 5 minute walk in Lower Mills. The Milton Farmers Market is right there all summer, too! There is ample parking at the Schoolhouse. Public transportation is easy. There are two frequent buses stops right in front of the building that will bring you to Ashmont Station. But more fun is the High Speed Trolley, which has nearby stops, with the Central Ave stop being less than a 5 min walk. We highly recommend moving to The Schoolhouse at Lower Mills!
